It's been about 2 weeks since these guys went missing. I thought they'd have turned up hung over in Denver or Rapid City before now. No cell phone or credit card activity. Now I'm thinking they drove off into a ravine someplace, although people have been searching with that possibility in mind.

When I think of people vanishing when out for a drive I think of the cases of people turning up at the bottom of a lake decades later.  So, any lakes nearby?

Actually, yes.  Between where they were last seen and where they were thought to be going, there is Oglala Lake.

That exact scenario happened to a friend of mine's relative. It took close to 50 53 years to finally find them

The car has a sunroof so I expect it could sink really fast.   I messaged a guy over there that is probably involved in the search. I got no reply yet.
