I have a Remington 597, a Ruger 10/22 Takedown, a CZ512, and a Hammerli 22SA Sport.
The Hammerli is made in Mexico (One of the Mexican firearms flooding into the US.) It is also the most reliable of any of them. Even Remington Thunderbolts. Somebody else is now importing them under a different name. Since it has a tubular magazine it is not limited under New York's pseudo SAFE act. The Remington is over 10 years old. Reliable with the current mags and pretty accurate out of the box . The Ruger 19/22 Takedown is pretty neat and accurate. Comes with a nice tote bag too. Also reliable with no aftermarket parts. But if you want you can spend thousands replacing everysingle part of the rifle and telling everyone how great they are. The CZ512 is the best of the lot though. As accurate as any of my bolt action 22's. |

.22lr I was squirrel hunting with this morning. It has a conversion kit in it so not sure what options that leaves you with. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=88507 http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=88508 that looks like a good time

I have a 10/22 international but I bought it more to have than to actually use(always wanted one with the full length stock). My bolt action gets used much more, especially with the difficulty in replenishment. Manual actions with low capacity slow ammo consumption. Being an accessory nut I will eventually get a .22 conversion for my AR as well but it's low priority.
ETA-also have a dedicated 1911 frame with match grade trigger that I use with a .22 conversion. My wife decided it's her gun so it has pink grips to match my daughter's pink Cricket. |
Not a semi, but here's my current 22 love...

M&P 22 is the best AR pattern .22LR out there. Takes down is exactly like an AR so cleaning is super easy. Manual of arms is just like AR with drop free mags, bolt release, safety manipulation, etc..Mags are large and easy to manage. Best thing is that it takes all the aftermarket AR furniture.
Ruger 10/22 is a classic for classic style. But is not a similar comparison. If you like apples, don't get oranges. A mag of .22LR in the face is pretty devastating. |

I'm loving the AR .22 pistol I built around a CMMG bolt, model 1 sales barrel, and a Colt 9mm upper receiver.
I'm very happy with the accuracy and function. Rates right up there with my 10/22s.

You need to be more specific. Pistol? Rifle? Belt Fed?

I have 10/22 and M&P 15/22. I also have a CMMG Conversion Kit for AR 15's that works well. That is cheaper than buying a new gun if you have an AR. All are a blast to shoot |
