| The grates that came with my Weber 22" seem kind of flimsy. Am I being a snob by wanting to buy a stone or cast iron grates? Can I put a cast iron pan directly on the grates and just cook that way? |

Never had a problem with stock grates. Use a heavy cast iron pan all the time to make fajita veggies. |

They seem to be thinner than they used to. I have a stock one without the side access hinges and it has dipped a little bit in a few spots, though easy enough to straighten. I think the ones with the charcoal access doors are thicker gauge material.
