Of course this is targeted at law-abiding gun owners and we don't like it but you know the reality is this law is just going to put more young black men in jail for even longer terms. Every gun crime will just get one more charge and a few more years tacked on to it. It won't affect those of us who obey the law at all.
How long before the Al Sharptons of the world are crying about it? |

It will never end. Ever. But they just want to "compromise." ![]() I'd love to call them on that. COMPROMISE - so, you get background checks on private sales, and you give up the Hughes Amendment, the NFA, and the import ban. Deal? They don't want compromise, the want a total ban. Many of them have admitted as much. |

He can introduce it all he wants, to satisfy the whiners. It's going nowhere. This time. I want to believe! They couldn't pass shit at the federal level after a lunatic gunned down a bunch of children at at elementary school. If there was ever a prime opportunity to sneak some decades-old legislation waiting in the wings, that was it (and they tried). If that hasn't convinced you that his latest attempt at pandering to his base has no chance of passing (as long as we keep up pressure, and we will), then I don't know what will. Don't get complacent, but don't become a fatalist either. And if you're not already an NRA member, you should be. |

So what we have here in Oregon and Washington already? That's what we'll hear from the NRA. Sounds like their attitude is that it's already in force in too many states to be worth fighting. Even though it's not enforceable unless there is a sting operation, it's a great precursor to universal registration. You'll be surprised how many gun owners will jump on the band wagon and support it. They're worse than frogs being boiled because we're telling them the heat is being turned up! Coming soon ton everytown meeting near you, the same old, new anti-gun slogans: ...but think of the children, .....if it saves just one life, .....how else do we keep guns out of the hands of criminals and crazy people, ... it's just common sense, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum! |
| OP, do you even government? Holy fuck, bills get introduced all of the time. Most of them go nowhere. This would be like going on a liberal forum and posting "Abortion ban imminent!" because a Republican congressman introduced a bill with zero co-sponsors to prohibit abortion. |

Without registration It can't be enforced So fuck them You pass the bill without registration. Then you get a judge or a sympathetic president to install registration, in order to fulfill the wishes of Congress, because of course Congress expected their law to be enforced, and this was just an oversight that needs to be corrected. Justice Roberts' ruling on Obamacare shows us that anything is possible, and they are thinking this way right now. |

Everytime I turn around here in the last few years, a state passes a law stating that concealed carry is a fundamental right (no licence required), and leaves licensing open only for reciprocity reasons with other states. I'm telling you guys, even the most optimistic pro-gunners in 1985 never saw this coming. We're winning. Yes I'm aware of recent setbacks in Colorado, Connecticut, New York and the like, but overall...we're winning. |

CT and NY are libtard eastern states. CO is an anomaly caused by a PRK libtard infusion and the pot law. Sure. Agreed. But overall (across the nation), we're winning. Some of you might forget this, but handguns were damn close to being banned at one point, because they were so evil. In 2016, we're allowed to carry them hidden upon our persons, and in many cases - we're allowed to do it license-free, just because we live in a particular state. And the number of "those particular states" are growing year by year. We are winning so hard, it almost hurts. Fucking. Amazing. Try explaining this to someone who who could be sent to prison if he bought ammo through the mail, in 1985. |

If one gets CCW in a state where that gives you a pass on NICS, is that sort of like a Universal Background Check? One NICS for the 5-10 years that the CCW is good for. I could live with that if everyone was assigned a federal CCW at birth to be effective on the 13th birthday.. Probably too much to hope for
