Greatest show in the history of shows.

Benders character is loosely based upon my life.

It did do the nasty in the pasty...

Too bad its quality really waned in the later new seasons. It kept trying for more Jurassic Bark when it should have been trying for more Spanish Fry.

A great show.

I never understood why they had so much trouble staying on the air over the years.

One of the best episodes was when Fry slept with his grandmother in Roswell New Mexico and started his whole family lineage.

The post-revival episodes weren't as good on average, but there are still some very good ones in there.  There were also some freaking weird ones like the one where they were all fish.  I don't know what the heck they were trying to do with that one.

As a whole, it's still one of the best shows ever made.

When it was on Fox it kept getting preempted for football. Plus any show on Fox has to put up insane ratings numbers just to stay alive... Fox is like the darwin thunderdome of television shows.

Then when Adult Swim got the rights to it and started showing it nightly at a stable time frame it got hyper popular, so popular it had new shows made direct to video.

Then Comedy Asshole bought the rights and proceeded to order new seasons, and run them at odd times only once a week or against other more popular shows. Combine that with a decreased quality in the new episodes and once again popularity dropped and the show was cancelled again... yet Comedy Asshole continues to run reruns every now and then in an irregular schedule.

Had Futurama had a regular schedule in a time slot that wasn't super crowded it could have gone on for much longer like the Simpsons. It had the fanbase. The problem was it was created under a channel that DGAF, then broadcast by a channel that DID DGAF, only to have it "stolen" from them by another channel that DGAF who ran it into the ground.

Like all good things on T.V., they get abused by their networks with inconsistent times, fans get upset, and the network finally had too many beers and beats the poor thing to death.

Not only that, but comedy central fuckin' edits out small parts. The only one that come to mind right now, because they just aired it, is when they go fishing and Amy loses her top. As she's spraying on a new top they edit out the professor saying "Oh my!"
Bunch a-fuckin' swj's at CC.

Fry and the Slurm Factory was one of the best.

Nails markets with take offs of Willy Wonka, Coke/New Coke and Bud Light.

One of my favorite bits:

Fry: What if the secret ingredient is... people!?

Leela: Oh, there's already a soda like that. Soylent Cola.

Fry: Oh, how is it?

Leela: It varies from person to person.

I don't think the various network executives knew what to make of a show written by nerds and full of science jokes like "No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!"

Then it turns out in reality Yancy named his first born son after him.
