Samsung galaxy S4? maybe S5? Android version 4.4.4

I also have a laptop. Its a PC, uses Windows, and has a keyboard, a monitor, and some guts inside that make it go vroom.

Finally, the last piece of equipment I have is a cord that connects the two.

How in the flying cock do I make the pretty pictures on my phone illegally immigrate to my computer? There's a lot more room there, they'd be happy there, its the land of milk and honey for fuck's sake!

Here is payment in advance.....music I like but you probably don't:

Unlock the phone if it's locked..

Then plug the phone to pc using cable

Go to my computer.

You should see the phone as a drive letter.

Browse the phone from the pc

DCIM is the folder name on the phone for your pics

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume when you plug in your phone to your computer, your phone doesn't give you the "allow drive mode" permission pop up screen?  If it DOES, just tap ok, open Windows explorer, find the pictures files on your phone and drag all the pictures to a folder on your computer.

Drag and drop just like transferring from a USB. Make sure phone is connected as a media device. Photos are in DCIM folder.

Try a different USB port

Also the phone may not be assigned a drive letter

You may have to go to disk management and assign it a valid drive letter.

go to Samsung's website and download the SW package / drivers for your phone - then it'll show up when you plug it in.

Swipe down from the top...where the time and battery info is. Should see it show up in there and ask if you want to connect as media device

Just plug it in with USB then unlock the phone's screen.  Then go to my computer then click on the phone's icon and then the DCIM folder.  You should find the pics within that folder.

Download and install Airdroid it works great for transferring files and pictures on my Samsung S4 to my computer or the other direction.

Assuming you have a wifi connection at your house.
You don't have to install anything on your computer, just your phone - then goto this website to connect to your phone:

All those links reference connecting via the drop down menu.

Problem is, there is no reference to the USB connection via my "top bar swipe down menu thing"

More payment (this guy is a much better guitarist than I am):

Good advice right there.

My S4 is sensitive to the cable that is used.
Once you see that drivers are installing OP should be GTG.

Do you have a wireless router?

If you don't have a wireless router then disregard the following.

If you do then do the following:

Go to the Play Store and download and install the app called Airdroid.

Then goto this website on your computer http://web.airdroid.com/ it should look something like this:

Then open the Airdroid app on your phone it should look something like this:

Now, point your phone camera at the computer QR code square and push the QR code square button on your phone.

In a few seconds your phone will connect to your computer wirelessly and you can then transfer back and forth to your hearts desire.

Log into Dropbox on pc. And download pics.

Settings, towards the bottom it should say developer options. There is a USB debugging tab. If it is on you won't see the SD card. It is trying to install the adb drivers

I don't know, I only have one phone.

But, you could try opening two instances of Airdroid in your browser tabs and try.

It will connect only one device at a time when it syncs to the QR code, but I don't know if it will allow multiple devices connected through multiple browser tabs.
