That 1 stuck out to me also. Most of the preseason polls I've seen (I know......the worthless preseason rankings) have OSU ranked higher than Oklahoma. Home field being worth 3-4 points. Where are the other 6 coming from? Line was put out by 1 of the most respected handicappers in Vegas for Southpoint. Would love to hear his breakdown on this game. An astute bettor can find some great values in these GOYs. I know a guy who does really well with them year in and year out. Drawback being its a long time to keep money tied up. Meyer has let the inmates run the asylum and eventually those chickens will come home to roost. May take another 4 years....but I think you'll see signs of it this fall. |

Both have shown they can do well but I don't know if Baylor wants to take a chance on either of them. Oh and.... |

Haven't read the thread, but I'll just say people needed to be fired after reading today's report.
It sucks but I'm proud the school took steps to fix what was obviously broken, and it starts at the top. The overall problem isn't uniquely Baylor's, but we gotta run a tighter ship. See y'all in August. Pro Ecclesia, Pro Texana. |

The PH report is brutal. Just now reading some of it....wow. From what I've read they should have fired the whole coaching staff, not just Briles. Pretty despicable behavior. In certain instances, including reports of a sexual assault by multiple football players, athletics and football personnel affirmatively chose not to report sexual violence and dating violence to an appropriate administrator outside of athletics. In those instances, football coaches or staff met directly with a complainant and/or a parent of a complainant and did not report the misconduct." |

Despite its recent success, Baylor has not traditionally been a plum job for a coach. And with the stink of this scandal on it I don't foresee too many A-listers lining up for the job. Maybe they offer stupid money or something and I'm proven wrong, but I don't see much in the way of positive for Baylor down the road.

He's in a great situation at Houston and has a very promising year ahead of him. He's going to get a chance at a bigger program than that within a few years. He's actually waiting for either Sumlin or Strong to get axed if rumors are correct. I truly believe Baylor is going to have to settle for a mid tier coach who is willing to walk into a dumpster fire. There are recruits already bailing. What if the NCAA does what they did at Penn State and let the players leave without penalty of sitting out. Baylor program is in TROUBLE and it's going to take a while to fix it. |

Mack Brown to Baylor is getting a lot of stroke.
If he still wants to coach, and coach in a place he has long-standing ties, could there a be a more no-pressure situation for him than Baylor? |

Think BAylor is gonna get smacked hard with sanctions?
I mean if they're firing Briles after he's taken the program sooooo far, and fans being made fun of all those years for wearing Baylor stuff, they must be scared of what the NCAA will do. |

Reduced scholarships, no postseason appearances, etc is the most likely scenario. The program is definitely going to suffer. Remember they were paying Briles something like $6mill a season. Plus they just built amazing new stadium. With the team they have someone will be interested
My parents went to Baylor and I gave it some serious thought before staying in Arizona. I enjoyed their success and all this makes me very sad |

I would take the over on Texas.
They are going to be a lot better than last year. They were 5-7 last year, and lost 3 of those games by a combined 7 points and two of them in the last seconds because of screwy plays. They had no vertical game at all. That should change this year, plus they have 2 monster backs and the base of what should be a great offensive line. The backers and secondary are solid and has a few future pro players in the lineup. The defensive line is going to rely on incoming Freshmen so that is a huge question mark and of course the QB question remains, but it is much clearer than before and there is a lot of optimism with an early enrolled freshman. |

FSU will win more than 9.5 games this year.
Also, Baylor and SMU should just trade coaches and call it a day. |

Stadium location from what I understand is a big drawback also. View Quote Depends on who you ask. The stadium is closer to Broward than Miami but it's easy to get to from the turnpike. It's no longer in the hood. Which is nice for people who actually want to watch football. One reason that the old orange bowl used to be filled up for games is after kickoff tickets would be $5 or less and every hood rat in Liberty City would go to the game.....which is also why other teams would hate to go to Miami games. They were known for fighting and throwing bottles of piss at fans from other teams. No matter the sport, pro or college, Miami is known for its fair weather fans. |
