Some states require firearms to be locked in a vehicle and such
4/29/2016 1:48:01 PM EDT
[#3]
I wonder if that would actually qualify for states that require locks since it doesn't disable the serialized part aka the gun.

Is that an easily accessible hex bolt in the inside?

Wasn't there a similar gizmo about 10-12 years ago?

Arguably it does, because you can't separate the upper and lowers now, or drop the hammer.

How exactly are you going to get to that hex bolt when it is in place?

Follow the disassembly procedure necessary when the bolt is stuck out of battery. Remove the stock+buffer tube. Get the bolt clear of the upper. Unpin the upper. Should be a bit of access to the lock at that point.

Its not impossible to defeat (no lock or security device is) but it certainly prevents easy access to comply with stupid laws.

Magwell, good thing if you lost the key and don't have a hacksaw to cut the buffer tube off I guess.  Thatsretardedsir.jpg

You still aren't getting to that hex head bolt

It would be easier to pick that lock, it doesn't look like it is much of a lock at all.

Why would you need a hack saw ?

You aren't getting to that hex head with any tools to take out that hex bolt

No, but I'd love to kill some time with this lock and see if I can get around it with basic tools.

No. You are thinking of Blackthorne.

Its not a bad looking locking mechanism. Id never use it but plenty of people do use gun locks that probably will.

You can take the buffer tube off but the bolt carrier is going to get hung up on the gas key.

I guess if I really needed to lock an AR-15 like that I'd use a cable lock up the magwell.  Hasn't come up...

If I was going to lock up an AR id rather use this than a cable lock personally.

I can't really think of when I'd want to use this, but I think it makes as much or more sense than any other lock I've seen.

Why would anyone want a lock on a gun?

Seems useless.

Looks like you could have a magazine inserted while locked
4/29/2016 4:39:00 PM EDT

The Army will probably buy a million of them when some idiot General decides you need one of these inserted to bring a weapon into a chow hall overseas.

I want a dust cover that looks like that lock.
4/29/2016 4:57:44 PM EDT

Could you not drop the mag take both pins out and just side the upper forward to get to the back of the lock?

"Hey bro, can I see your rifle?"

"Sure bro, here you go."

" Bro, it won't work though?"

"I know bro!"

"Bro lock, bro"

"Whoa"

Way better than those stupid fucking trigger locks.

I like it, as far as locks go.

F the haters.

Just tried (after pulling the buffer and spring so i can hold the bolt back like the lock would), doesn't work, rear take down lug hits the top of the hammer and it cant slide off.

Cheaper

Serves the same purpose.

I use one of these when traveling with my rifles. NJ and all....
