Almost pulled the trigger on one, just because looks, but the dealer told me 70 mph was about their max.

I'm selling my 97 Suzuki Marauder today, 5992 on the clock. I never ride it so it's time to let it go.

Yeah.... 4 speed gearbox, bushed bottom end, they certainly weren't designed for the highway.

But I do get incredible smiles-per-gallon out of it

I just picked up a Suzuki RF600R for $100

It has sat since 2006 - no key - had to pull the triple tree, tank, and helmet lock and take to the locksmith to be keyed.  Pulling the triple tree is a PITA.

Once I get the keys need to clean out the tank.  Gelled gas and what not.

Should make for a nice project and the price was right.

Without a doubt. I thought the KTM 990 Adventure was really cool. But also KTM. As a Honda though...

I know nothing of motorcycles, I don't even know how to ride one.

Yet I find myself wanting either a bike like yours (I think that's an Iron 883), or a Victory Vegas 8 ball.

I really like the styling of both

I want one so bad.

Though on a more Affordable note, Yamaha's new Tracer 700 is something I'd love to own as well. FZ-07 with a partial fairing and a few other tweaks.

I'm not sure if it was the good idea fairy or US Honda thinking that giving it chain drive would have stolen too many Interceptor sales. The CBX750 was the bike the Nighthawk S should have been

One bike that I still have absolutely no idea why it didn't get sold in the US was the CB750F rather than the kind of frumpy Nighthawk. They even made a limited edition Freddie Spencer replica

Alright bike owner arfcommers chime in......

I only see a few members above me that have sportbikes. Why is it when I see these threads they are full of weird or otherwise rare motorcycles that I never see on the road....ever? Only motorcycles I see are Harleys and Ninja's. I have only seen a few triumphs or adventure bikes out on the road. Besides, why buy a dual sport/adventure bike if you are going to be on asphalt most of the time? Is there something about them I'm missing?

Not a rider here.

I'd have an ADV bike in a second. I put 6K miles on my FJR1300 last summer, riding around MT and WY. But it would be damn nice to take a dirt road once in a while. I've been drooling over The BMW and KTM adventure bikes for years and will own one at some point. I spent a couple hours on a friend's Ducati Multistrada last summer and it was a lot more comfortable than my sport-tourer.
