I need an app / device that can record cell phone calls. Both sides of the conversation. Has anyone used one that actually worked? |

I use one called "Automatic Call Recorder" from the google play store. It has a green phone in a reddish circle. It works great. Records both ends of the conversation. The free version saves the last 40 calls. This, great quality, hasn't ever failed me. Even on 45+ min convos. If you get near the 40 limit, just move the audio files to a laptop or something. |

telling us if we are discussing iphone, android, or other would be a good start.

I use total recall on Android. It is limited in the free version, but enough to try to see if it works. The full version is $10 and allows for automatic uploading to dropbox or other sites along with a ton of other settings.
ETA: it does not require root, but is enhanced with root. |

automatic call recorder does not require root, nor does it require speaker. It even records the calls made and received while I'm running the phone through the bluetooth GM audio system in my truck. Quoted:

Does the phone need to be rooted? automatic call recorder does not require root, nor does it require speaker. It even records the calls made and received while I'm running the phone through the bluetooth GM audio system in my truck. That's pretty awesome. |
