| Anyone do it? I just discovered it and have been reliving my childhood.... By playing the only 3 video games I had on the SNES.... Anyone use a controller? I know a PS3 controller can be used on my mac, wonder how well that would do..... |

Get a Raspberry Pi 3 and two buffalo SNES controllers. Load the latest build of Retropie on a MicroSD card and fire up the PI with that.
Boom, you're done. Load up the roms via a FTP client and the PI's built-in wifi. Incidentally, this will provide emulation for ALOT of different systems, include arcade systems and DOS emulation via dosbox. And the PI comes with a GPIO which you can use to install arcade buttons and joysticks for a no-delay arcade cabinet built. |
| I haven't found a good computer emulator that I have been completely happy with, they just don't run the game perfectly. I found this product, it is a bit pricey but works amazing SD to SNES. http://krikzz.com/store/home/27-sd2snes.html It plays the games as they were intended and it is not true emulation as you are using the hardware they were made for. What I enjoy most is the library expands, games that did not make it to the U.S like Secret of Mana 2, Terranigma, etc... It will run probably run 99% of the library only a few tiles it can not run like the FX chip games. There is a less expensive similar option The Super Everdrive it is also supposed to work great but does not play as much of the library and has takes a bit to load; I don't have personal experience with it but it is what I have heard. |
