There's that as well. I don't think he's a very good human being.

Why would that be? Most people in GD only know him through movies.

Also he's an A lister worth half a billion dollars and yet he's still a hard worker.  Like the training he did for 'Collateral.' He could have skipped it and gotten paid the same, but he did it anyway.

Too bad the character died in that movie
It would make an interesting cross-over if Vincent could make a cameo in the next John Wick movie to tie those two universes together.
Sort of like the alien skull in Predator 2 that formally linked those two universes

I've met him. I like quite a few of his movies, he seemed like an alright guy. Don't think I could hang out with him though. In his later years, he seems not to be able to do a movie when he's not on a motorcycle at some point in the film.

Cause of it's length I don't watch it often, hell haven't watched it in years, but it's a great movie, and one of the least predictable films I've seen.  His role in that astonished me.

The training he did for Collateral where he got a job as a post man and just did civilian shit in disguises without being noticed is something I found pretty awesome.

Everybody always talks about his shooting. Shooting is a hobby for Cruise. Getting shitty jobs, and not being pegged as Tom Cruise is honestly way cooler.

I liked both of those. EWS, it's Kubrick. If nothing else, it's nice to look at. VS, was just too long for what was essentially an episode of "The Twilight Zone".

Now, "Cocktail"... "Days of Thunder"... Even "Top Gun"... you watch it now, it's a joke.

Oh, and whoever said "Edge of Tomorrow" was bad is on crack.

When Tom Cruise was practicing for the Last Samurai:

This was practice off set like in a dojo...They say his forearms got so big that he couldn't fit his arms through his suit jackets/sport coats.

I find that kind of dedication impressive.

Just be glad it's him not you

Who couldn't enjoy Tom Cruise

The general sentiment seems to be that everybody thinks he's weird and nobody likes him, but enjoys his films.

I also think he's weird, dumb enough to get mixed up with Scientology, and very likely a pole smoker, but it appears he's a hard worker, basically a decent guy and not the kind of prick you might expect.  I also appreciate that he seems to mostly keep his political views to himself, unlike cock monglers like Matt Damon.

Bingo.  A great film and probably his best performance.  Loved all the "extras" Cruise and P.T. Anderson worked on for the character.

The day he dies, he can look back and say "damn, I sure was a busy motherfu**** in my life."

Is he the greatest actor?   No.   Does he make a lot of fun to watch movies?   Yes.

Dude goes from one movie to the next......always working it seems.   Most people could learn a thing or two on his work ethic.

He has generated a lot of work for himself and other people.   I find that admirable.

My opinion of T.C. has changed a lot over the years.  I consider him to pretty much be the best actor out there making films today...What defines it for me is when I see his movies I actually see the guy he is playing on screen, I don't see Tom Cruise playing a role.

He also seems like a stand up guy based on his reaction to this video...

Say what you want about Cruise's personal life, but that little bastard knows how to make an entertaining movie.

Try to name a bad film in which Cruise was one of the two main actors. And by "bad" I don't mean simply "below average." I mean "a steaming pile of shit."

Capitalism, work ethic, and a bit of luck(to break into hollywood) has been good to his bottom line. Big congrats(and he knows how to keep his wealth).

He did a football movie with coach years back, his fantasy film legend put him in a different type of role, lol.

His pudgy self as a teen maybe with messed up teeth in Taps, he was intense!!!  But he got some 60 time so many years ago :)

I look forward to his future roles.  He lands gigs in the big flicks where cinematography, mood, lighting, music, etc. matters..

Tropic thunder, it was mid movie before i figured out it was in that role, funny stuff.
