Was pretty happy and surprised to see the patch/badge I designed about 15 years ago be used as the main tail-art on one of the ORANG 173FW F-15Cs. This bird commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Oregon Air National Guard. I retired about five years ago, and the patch remains the primary "badge” for the Oregon Air National Guard. |

Never seen an Eagle dressed up quite like this, so thought I’d share. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p22/catmissile/12976977_1259429897418797_1781652126421096866_o.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p22/catmissile/12901283_1259429887418798_2259635498153391638_o.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p22/catmissile/12916765_1259429820752138_6983674494036376627_o.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p22/catmissile/12961326_638125963012047_1959347231660492382_o.jpg My original patch http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p22/catmissile/ORANG_patch_logo.jpg View Quote |

Very cool. I love that patch. Not too busy, not too plain. Great mix of colors and design elements. Really draws you in.

Great patch, great paint job. Well Done, OP.
That said, 79-041? That's an old bird... |
F-15s look good no matter what the paint scheme is....but that is an awesome paint job.
Cool logo, OP. |
Thats perfect of an Oregon ANG jet.
Why does an AF fighter have a tailhook on it? |
The sexiest Eagle is still Streak Eagle.
I wish my evil scheme to build Streak Raptor would have gone through. |
Ok I'll be the asshole.
Trees and aircraft don't mix.... But it is very awesome op, just busting your chops. |
They didn't give you any $$$ for using your design?
Just kidding. Yeah, I know how the military works. |
I had a lot of fun at you boys' airshow about fifteen years or so ago.
Much cool
Very awesome So Trans Am, Firebird or just plain Bandit? |

Cool story bro. Really, that's a really cool story. Good job man!
Too lazy to find it but if you google VFA-82 Marauders you'll find an F-18C painted similar. I didn't realize the AF did that.

IIRC bullf16's kid is there right now becoming an F-15c pilot.

View Quote To keep things interesting As previously answered...certain system failures (somewhat aircraft specific) can degrade braking to a point where runway remaining could be an issue or cause complete brake failure. Also, it can be used for a heavyweight abort on initial takeoff...although the brakes are good to go they may not have the ability to stop the aircraft without the jet going off the end of the runway. |
