For the TL:DR crowd- what is the most accurate you have seen from 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 ammo? What gun was that with?
This thread got locked before I could post the question there. The OP of that thread claimed 1.5 MOA accuracy from an Arsenal with hand loads. I have a WASR and Sino-Soviet SKS but they are nothing more than range toys and I have never shot them for groups. The SKS has been more accurate than the WASR, however. I have read good things about 7.62 out of a CZ 527 (sub-MOA claimed by an ARFCOMer). I have a 5.45 AR (Ballistic Advantage complete upper) that I was getting ~2.25 MOA (5 shot) with 7n6 and a Aimpoint Micro before I stopped shooting it. I didn't see any 5.45 or 762x39 entries in the 1 MOA All Day challenge. I did see a 7.62x54R entry 69. Mwieczorek, 1943 Izhevsk M91/30 PU sniper rifle, Handloaded ammo, Groups: 1.79, 1.50, 1.86, 2.22, 1.78 = Average of 1.83 MOA So, what is the best accuracy you have seen personally from 7.62x39 or 5.45x39? What were the circumstances (gun, glass, ammo, how many round group, etc...)? |

Thanks for posting that. no problem....that's the best shooting x39mm rifle I've ever had any personal experience with, using 'factory' ammo......including several custom barrels for CZ 527s.... |
