I'm confused, what does a light bar have to do with driving in traffic? I was thinking desert shoots at night.... Quoted:

I hope you enjoy driving exactly the speed limit anywhere there's traffic in front of you. I'm confused, what does a light bar have to do with driving in traffic? I was thinking desert shoots at night.... It looks very cop carish. |

I was thinking desert shoots at night.... Driving a new explorer with lights on the front = people assume you're a cop. Edit: I don't trust any new Charger, Explorer, or Taurus anyway though. Especially one with tinted windows. Popo be sneaky man. |

I like them when they're in the grill. http://www.genetjin.com/miscellaneous/all_star_explorer.jpg This, I wouldn't want one on top of a truck that I daily drove Edit, I have two small ones about the size of fog lights on my truck and use them all the time |
|
Other then being rolling probable cause, I like them.
They are against the law in many states. Not every cop will stop/cite you for them but some have a uggge boner for them and happily ticket (and see what else they can find). My junk has 4 small ones on the roof rack, 2 forward facing, 2 rear mounted fuckyoulights (and two old school Hella offroad lights on the winch bumper). It isn't a daily driver and I seldom if ever carry guns in it (California), It also has a myriad of other equipment violations. YMMV having LEDs on a daily driver. |
|
For offloading or desert shooting at night they'll be awesome. I have a light bar on my RZR and for driving at night it kicks ass. Personally I wouldn't put one on the roof of my truck but maybe on the grill if I had a need. If you don't go offload I don't see the point.

I would add them OP. They really light things up. <a href="http://s300.photobucket.com/user/rccox/media/Raptor/CCA8FCB1-8C2C-4A1C-8FF3-72A4AD10FAA8.jpg.html" target="_blank">http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn38/rccox/Raptor/CCA8FCB1-8C2C-4A1C-8FF3-72A4AD10FAA8.jpg</a> Nice! |

Why, because special snowflake drivers decide to punish someone for having a light bar installed but not turned on? Quoted:

Why, because special snowflake drivers decide to punish someone for having a light bar installed but not turned on? Uh no, imagine that explorer in the picture behind you. Does it not resemble a cop car? |

Does it not resemble a cop car? It does, and my Explorer looks just like the one in my OP. It even has black wheels. Hope the NRA sticker on the back will bring a sigh of relief to anyone I pass... I'm surprised the "Meh" vote is about even with the "love em" vote... |
| I've got a combo spot/flood on my front bumper and it works well for normal off road. I've also got an led flood in my rear bumper which unfortunately tends to wash out my rear camera at night. I'm not sold on the roof mounted bars, for the money I think you get better throw with some halogen or hid spots, you also don't get the glare off the hood and windshield that leds tend to have. Just my opinion, I'm not a high speed offroader. |
|
How many batteries does that guy have installed? |
|
Don't be one of those douches that turns on their parking lights and the 87,000 watt LED bar and drives all the way to work.
I saw one of them about a month ago on my way in and probably 15min down the road OSP had him pulled over. I was glad. They serve a purpose, driving to work on a busy highway isn't one of them. |
|
Mounted low is much more practical so that you're not blinding people on the other side of the highway. It also gives you a split second longer to turn them off so you aren't blinding everyone.
ETA: If you want quality and the price isn't too high for you, go with Rigid Industries... Buy once cry once and all that. |

Don't get the huge ones. Don't cheap out either. Cheaper they are the dimmer they are. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j26/louisianarebel14/20150927_103322_zpsjjs9tb3a.jpg My cheap one is as bright as my neighbors rigid. May not last as long, but we will see |
|
I'll get one eventually. Not right now. I'm saving for a room addition on my house, so I'm not spending much on my bro dozer.
I've got two rear facing LED pairs. Really bright. I don't remember the brand. But they are 10w per bulb. Most cheapo LEDs are 3w per bulb. So these are a bit brighter for the size. |
