Because in a time of tweet anger and Facebook feelings it's dangerous to elect a president who's eligibility to sit is questionable. Unlike Obama who was born on US soil to an American who had full intent to stay an American, Ted Cruz had neither. It's difficult for the snowflake generation to realize that no matter how great a person is or how much they may love this country, wants do not satisfy standards. Alexander Hamilton is prima facia example of such.
