t was Twitter to his rescue this past weekend when some supporters of
Bernie Sanders took offense to  CNN’s coverage of the Vermont senator’s
victories in three caucuses on Saturday.

The hashtag #BernieMadeMeWhite
began trending after Sanders won caucuses held Saturday in Alaska,
Hawaii and Washington. CNN had commented on the electorate of Alaska
earlier this year, saying the state was "one of the most diverse places”
in the country, but on Sunday after Sanders had trounced former
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a commentator offered a different perspective.

"These caucus states -- largely white and rural --
are the type of places Sanders traditionally does well. In order to win
the nomination, he must replicate this success in other, more ethnically
diverse states that hold primaries, as he did in Michigan last month.”
