The Sharpmaker would be a good choice actually. It's not the best for reprofiling a knife but great at edge maintenance and would play pretty well with a wicked edge system

It's damn good. I popped the cork and immediately got a lung full of delicious peat. I don't know about the "wee" bit but it's a "beastie" for sure. I'm going back tomorrow to see if they still have another one.

Nice. I used to buy Laphroaig 10 by the case when I could get it shipped into my stupid alcohol monopoly state. I don't remember shipping cost, but i'm pretty sure it was 32 bucks a bottle from k&l wines at that time.

I need a second one. Just for another set of scales.

I am not in love with the lines on it, but in hand it feels good and the execution is top notch. Nice and slicey.

She's got Laphroaig 10 and it's much more manageable than Port Charlotte or Ardbeg 10

I've not had the pleasure of Port Charlotte. Ardbeg 10 is my current go-to for peaty scotch. Local pricing generally has it cheaper than Laphroaig for some reason, though it seems to be generally the same price or Laphroaig slightly less most other places I see them.

Also, quick PSA.

I shipped a package to a friend in Germany back in April and it has been in Frankfurt at customs since May 2nd.

My friend called customs last week to see about an update. They told him they would work on it when Corona was over.

Today, I received an email from Deutsche Post telling me they are working on it.

So yay, Corona is over!

I'll ask if any have gotten confiscated but from what I've heard. It's a violation of federal law to use USPS but only a violation of corporate policies to use FedEx/UPS

No. No time.

ETA:

Also, my friend advised that the notice from Deutsche Post probably just means one lazy worker shifted the package to a coworker's desk thereby creating a reportable event and not suggesting it is actually moving forward, just sideways.

I think it's legal in certain situations but not always. It's complicated. I would love to ship some good friends a gift but don't want to break any laws in doing so.

Illegal to ship USPS.

Against company policy to ship via UPS and Fedex consumer to consumer as Op said. If you ask a driver, they may say put it in my truck.

Licensed companies may ship some alcohol from a warehouse or retail location to a consumer via private carrier. Laws vary by state, county and even municipality after prohibition was lifted.

I don't see a bungee.  Are you talking about the cable gun lock on the top?

I could be strangely ok with that setup for a limited distance if it were not possible to get a pintle adapter in a reasonable amount of time.

It appears that all the craziness is only there to keep the ring from bouncing off of the ball.

Pulling it would probably be fine, stopping might be exciting. Lol

"Hump" day pic for WIC. Also, scored a Select.

Things most people should already know about Bottled in Bond - The bottled in bond act of 1897 was because people were passing off crap whiskey that was watered down and had nasty shit in it and people wanted some quality guarantee/regulation from the officials. Fast forward to now and the same standards apply - to be labeled BIB it has to be 100 proof (which is great for cocktails with ice), at least four years age, and the good part - USA only, one season, one distiller, one distillery (identified on label). So basically it is a large batch of a small batch style whiskey. Not saying they are something special, but for the several brands that still have BIB (e.g. Old Granddad, Rittenhouse, etc.) they are generally a little better and cost about the same per unit of alcohol. This Old Overholt will mostly go to Manhattans for which it is perfect, but it is very drinkable straight if you proof it a little.
