Any thoughts on the MKC offerings? We're in Missoula for most home games, they have a store up by the airport. Seem to be throwing money around like it's going out of style. Things are going well, or they're trying to establish their "brand"? Looking for something like the (gasp) Benchmade Dacian, the Stockyard looks fun. Edit. The more time I spend on their website, the less chance I send a dollar their way. BRCC, "influencers", "ultra concealable" 10.25" knives, blah blah blah. Feels like they're part of the required new Montana dress code

I prefer to work in damascus but I've known the developer of Magnacut since he was in grade school and wanted to see how it performed. It takes a wicked sharp edge and is easy to sharpen. |

I missed a smoking deal on a used small Insingo Inkosi the other day. I really think that blade is unique looking and find it easier to sharpen. The PJ version is OOS everywhere I looked. I do have a drop point PJ sitting in a cart right now. Maybe a nicer looking and more versatile choice??? I'm still pondering what to do. |

I’ve had multiple Chive (small), Scallion (medium) and Leek (large) knives over the years. My impression: Leek is more a of weapon than a useful knife because of the profile. The flat, mostly straight blade with a very pointy tip, it made for stabbing. It has it’s uses, but it’s almost like a shaving razor with a pointy end. I would feel confident with it for self defense. Scallion: the recurved belly makes it incredibly useful for a wide rsnge of taks like wire stripping and cutting rope. The belly itself is great for scraping. All around tough and great general purpose blade. I find the size, weight, and blade geometry the absolute perfect pocket knife. Chive: 50% scaled down Scallion. It’s a perfect pen knife. |
