I have a wife and 3 daughters who seem to believe knives are multifunction survival tools that never need sharpening. At least they don't throw them in the dishwasher, so I've got that going for me. |

How tough is the carbon fiber scale on the ones that Knifeart sells. Is that pretty scratch resistant or not? |

Don't have it yet, but I suspect the answer is yes. No issues with length, until I have a sammich thick enough that I have to bury the pivot to cut it. But it punctured the lid for my coffee just fine this morning so I could suck down my latte faster. |

Needed some ice cream to use with the raspberry sauce the wife made today after the kiddos picked over 5 pounds of raspberries, and looking at the Blue Bunny from a certain town in Iowa, it read like a chemistry lesson. So HagenDaz it was. With a raspberry muffin.

I've mentioned this before but they can't even legally call it ice cream, it's "frozen dairy dessert" now. The cream content is too low, and it's full of additives to get the texture back. It's also owned by Ferrero now, and every product of theirs I've ever looked at has chemical crap in it. They used to make some Haagen Dasz here under contract but the rumor was they lost it because they were cutting corners on the recipe. |

Ice cream is serious business, and I intend no sarcasm. Blue Bell still sells well here in Texas, but the listeria contamination they had several years ago certainly hurt the brand. We still opt for other brands. Lemon custard is my favorite ice cream flavor. My waistline is happy that lemon custard is difficult to source. |

CF is normally pretty tough, but I can't comment on how they hold up. I did not like them so I did not carry them. They were too light for my tastes. I like the heft of a standard CRK, where I can feel the presence. |

The HEB Creamy Creations is our substitute for Blue Bell. We were a die-hard Blue Bell family my whole life but once HEB got their house brand dialed in, that's become our default now. It's just as good, and maybe better in some instances plus it's about $2 cheaper per half gallon across the board. |

Certainly the finish will hold up better than CRK's standard Ti finish does (not that there's anything wrong with their normal finish - I like how it shows wear over time). |
