A little over a month ago the right side of my rib cage started hurting midway between my armpit and where the cage ends.  I have broken ribs on that side around a decade ago and it started out feeling exactly the same, 7 on a 1-10 scale if I sneezed or coughed, I would yell and curse following a sneeze and hold my side and be completely useless for about a minute afterwards.
No signs of injury, no injury at all really recently that I am aware of.  It started out feeling sore, like a sore muscle.  Then it turned into pain to the touch, a decent amount, say 6-10 when touched.  That has subsided to a little pain to the touch, pain when moving my torso in the right way and a about a 4 on the 1-10 scale when sneezing but it won't go away.

My wife is really starting to give me hell about going into the doc.  So I guess it's time to go .
I can breathe fine, if I take an abnormally large breath, my right side I get some pain not a lot and a stretching that sort of hurts and feels out of place.  She is convinced it's liver related.  To me if feels almost skeletal, but again, no injury.
If it doesn't go away by this weekend I am going in. Place your bets/any guesses.

You have aggravated some scar tissue in the ribcage from your past injuries is my guess.

Rib cartilage injuries hurt like hell.

Go get an x-ray.

Had the same thing from sneezing, rib out of place doc told me it happens all the time and give it time to heal like if it were broken ribs.

I tore an intercostal muscle a while back, sneezing in the shower of all things.

It was like that.  I could breathe fine.  Sneezing and coughing were agony.  Allergy season was fun.

It was pretty bad.  It healed, but if it was any worse, I probably would have needed surgery.  That said, it was a good six weeks of pain.

I had a massive bruise from hip to armpit, though.  That took a good six months to fade away.

You should probably go to the doctor instead of being a fucking idiot like me.
