First half of season 1 sucked, there is no denying it. But around episode 7, "Welcome to the Fu-Bar", Roberta and Murphy got their feet under them and the show started to take off. Episode 8 even made me enjoy an episode focused on DJ Qualls, who I fucking hate, so that was a surprise. Murphy's character dominates the show from then on and his arc is really fun. I also loved the Cheyenne free for all and them joining the Mexican cartel/death cult in season 2. I liked the X-Files and Mad Max tribute episodes, and taking refuge with the corporate retreat survivors.
The zombie gore is top notch and frequently hilarious - i.e. bus load of Abe Lincolns. Also, Addy loses some weight and gets rid of the god awful dreadlocks for season 2. Unfortunately, although there are some good moments the gunfights will never blow your socks off, anything gun related is "made for Youtube in my cousin's backyard quality" at best.
