As someone with an MPX in prison (..for a crime it did not commit..) How is the trigger? Stock MPX trigger on mine is probably the worst AR-style trigger I've had yet. I've heard that. I just have a few months to kill deciding which trigger to replace it with. |

I just have a few months to kill deciding which trigger to replace it with. Right now I'm sitting on it - given the non-ambidextrous charging handle, the Gen1 upper incompatibilities, Gen1 magazine incompatibilities, "You'll void your warranty if you change out that trigger!" statements, and all the other SIG B.S., I'm not sure this gun has a future with me. Not to mention it is hands-down the filthiest running 9mm I own - and that counts blowback carbines, blowback ARs, HK-style roller locks, and the MPX! I have a few decent AR triggers, and I'll probably suck it up and drop one in someday - since can't get my money out of a used Gen1 MPX I might as well keep it as a reminder why I will never again buy a SIG product. |

I think there are spring notches on both ends of the pins. I bet the longer leg of the spring is in a notch now.
I seem to remember a modification I read about long ago that involved cutting one leg of the hammer spring to decrease trigger pull weight. Is that what was done here? |

Is it normal that the spring doesn't have an equal amount of coils on both sides? Not really. The spring normally should have equal coils and spring extensions of the same length. The extensions on both sides normally rest in the grooves on both sides of the pin. This looks like some sort of modification to reduce spring force, and may be "normal" for this set-up. It does look wonky, however. |

Looks to me like the pin is notched on both ends, which would make sense. Sometimes the pin is only notched on one side and in the middle. I also agree with the posters who said the spring was modified (for lower pull weight). That's why one side is missing a coil (and the leg ended up shorter). |

I really like the way SIG has pushed the envelope with the BATFE. That's enough to make me want to buy something from them! I have always had good luck with sig products, and I've never had to ask for warranty work of any kind. |

Oh I understand completely - that's EXACTLY how I felt, and part of why I jumped on the MPX Gen1. I hope yours goes better, but "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" means I'm out. Too bad because they've got a lot of nice *looking* gear - suppressors, rangefinders, etc. |

Yes, it is bassackwards. You want that leg in the retainer groove. If you zoom in on the picture...looks like the pin has a groove on both sides so it can't ever be 'backwards". But what do I know...I only zoomed in 5x on a picture over the internet. OP needs to lift the spring and actually look. |

What does that pin even do? anyone? That pin holds the trigger and disconnector in the lower receiver. This one http://i65.tinypic.com/9jfadt.jpg I don't know what that pin is for. |

As long as there is a groove on both sides of the pin you should be fine. However, if you start double tapping with a single trigger pull, check to see if that pin has walked; all it takes is for that pin to move enough to drop the left side out of the receiver hole.
Personally, I would be more comfortable if that was a captured pin in that configuration. |

Both of my Wilson TTU 3G triggers have 2 coils right 3 coils left but they sit on the pin on both sides. Guess I need to fix that. Installation video shows it only resting on the left side of the pin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9VS-NbSYZU#t=165
