Is there any proof the Russians had agents in out country, living normal lives, waiting to be activated? Trained in Russia, sneaked into the country as children, then activated as spies?
Married couples training their kids to do it also? yeah, I'm watching The Americans. |
| We held some Alerts of B-52'S at odd hours for a period of several weeks in co-ordination with the FBI. They were trying to monitor phone and radio and people movements to determine Soviet agents. Of course, we also did Alerts for the hell of it both before and after those times. S.A.C. was a laugh a minute. |

Married couples training their kids to do it also? yeah, I'm watching The Americans. yes. a bunch were arrested & deported in 2010. many of them were couples w/ kids. the one couple who was living in Cambridge, MA had a 20 year old son who was at George Washington University, & it was said they were actively grooming him to be a spy as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegals_Program The Illegals Program, as it was called by the United States Department of Justice, was a network of Russian sleeper agents under non-official cover whose investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) culminated in the arrest of ten agents and a prisoner swap between Russia and the United States on July 9, 2010.
The spies were planted in the United States by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (known by its Russian abbreviation, SVR).[1] Posing as ordinary American citizens, they tried to build contacts with academics, industrialists, and policymakers to gain access to intelligence. They were the target of a multi-year investigation by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI investigation, called Operation Ghost Stories, culminated at the end of June 2010 with the arrest of ten individuals in the U.S. and an eleventh suspect in Cyprus.[1] Ten sleeper agents were charged with "carrying out long-term, 'deep-cover' assignments in the United States on behalf of the Russian Federation." here's a picture of one of them:

When I worked at the FBI we came in contact with many suspected KGB They were FBI and KGB? ![]() Yep andin exchange for light punishments they agreed to run the FEMA camps whenever the time comes. Thats a pretty good deal. You ever wonder if you've ever run into a real spy? That hot chick who was way out of your league showing interest, just so you'll get her on the base that houses the largest nuclear arsenal in the western hemisphere (by # of munitions) luckily for me even ugly chicks turn me down, so it'd be easy to spot.

Yes,both for espionage and and direct action. Had war come, there would have been industrial sabotage for certain and there is a good chance that the threats of things like poisoning municipal water supplies would have come true. Something you may want to look up is Vinnytsia,a mockup of a midwestern town to train KGB/GRU that was built and functioned as an American town in Ukraine. It has been replaced with a replica of a suburb of Chevy Chase,Maryland but of course it is much easier to train and place "illegals" these days. |

Maybe it was Jack Anderson, or some other magazine, like SOF from the 1980s, but I seem to remember a story about how the GRU had weapons caches in some places. Notably upper Midwest states. Supposedly even included nuclear demolition charges.
If this were true, I wonder how many were ever found? |

Take a look at the book, Witness, by Whittaker Chambers to learn about the communist activities in the US from the 1920's to the 1950's.
It is a long book that can be read selectively: Some autobiography, some communist USA history, then the Alger Hiss trials (which I did nor read since I am already familiar enough with them). P.S.: according to WC the Russian secret police were killing communists in the U.S. who had become a "problem" for the party in the 1920-30's. |
