Of course it counts!  It's the only thing that counts!  I personally was the guy that kept track of all the grid squares.  It's a tough job to make sure each one issued out gets turned back in.

I came very close to joining both the Marine Corps and the National Guard between 18 and 22, ended up deciding against it and I don't regret it.
Just a responsible citizen that does his best to serve his country in other ways.

Yes, yes, I realized that after.  By "retired" I meant in the more traditional meaning of "no longer in", not "Did 20+ years before leaving".  I know there's a big difference, but you know what I meant.
