So my older boys both have an iPhone 6 and one of them graciously (foolishly) let our 3 year old play a game on it. Well he has now disabled the phone and it says "iPhone disabled Connect to iTunes" This is supposed to let you factory reset. We've tried this several times with my iTunes account to no avail and keep getting "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."  No shit but with it disabled we don't have that option.

Is there an easier way without going through iTunes or can our carrier Verizon unfuck this thing?

TL;DR What round for a fucking iPhone???

I think thats what happened. He must have done it quite a bit because it usually locks out for various increments of time. Atlas thats what my phone 6s does.

Gecko iphone toolbox. Does the unlock without having to nuke the data on the phone.
