I don't care what firearm it comes from...what suppressed subsonic is the most fun to you?

I have a 300 BLK SBR, thinking of getting something in 9mm for ease of reloading.  9mm isn't the limit but what else should I be looking at or another fun caliber?

Have a 6.5" 22lr build, but at $0.10 a round I can reload for equal or cheaper.

.22 and .300 are pretty much the only subsonic I shoot. It's hard to find subsonic 9 locally. What is the cheapest to order?
1/22/2016 11:25:27 PM EDT
[#5]
I need to get some heavy 9mm and develop a load for my pistols.

300blk is useable. .22 is stupid fun.
1/22/2016 11:29:10 PM EDT
[#6]
It really depends on what I am doing.

.22lr subsonic is absolutely awesome and really really quiet.

I am a huge fan of the 300blk.  my bolt action loads are almost as quiet as a .22lr suppressed

9mm AR is fun.  I load up 158gr cast powder coat with some bulseye powder and blast away

.308 subs in my Savage are surprisingly accurate and really quiet.

If I had to choose only one, it would be the 300blk.

22 is fun. But I love reloading 147gr 9mm and 230gr 45 with VV N320. Quiet, soft shooting, clean, and inexpensive if reloading.  Otherwise, cop a bunch Lawman 147's from sgammo.

I can reload 124 grain for pretty cheap especially compared to 300 BLK subsonic.

This isn't a 300 BLK bash thread, more of a fun caliber or firearm thread.

Suppressed 22 is the most fun.

Suppressed 308 subsonic is the most interesting at the shooting range. Everyone thinks you're some kind of assassin or something.
1/22/2016 11:35:39 PM EDT
[#13]
Yeah, the most fun to me is the .22.

Next I guess would be the 9mm.
I have a suppressed 9mm AR upper (LRM M-169) as well as an AAC Evo for the pistols.
Then would be my integrally suppressed Ruger bolt gun in .44 Mag by John's Guns.

I own other suppressors, but they don't pull my chain.

I shoot the .22s a lot. The 9s once in a great while. Everything else just takes up safe real estate.

I have no idea where to find a threaded one.

I have a Rossi 92 in .45/454 that I got threaded.  You can load them through the gate or the mag cap unscrews.

Hickock45 has a video about a similar setup, I think.

I have the same in.38/.357... Love the damm thing. My 9mm can comes apart to clean, so Im not afraid to run cast lead....I can load 158gn .38 ammo cans at a time for less than a nickel a round. As quiet as .22lr in the bolt action.  The kids love it ,probably gets more action than anything else on the table..  and it is cheaper and easier than .22 for ammo... The rossi 92's really respond to swapping out all the springs with cowboy action mods...I had mine chopped, threaded and marbles tall gold dot front sight and a vintage receiver mounted peep installed by Koontz Customs in Salem Oregon, Nice job! Highly recommended!Koontz!

I have had my 30 cal can for a few years now and have shot 308, 556, and 300 blk subsonic with it. I thought it was amazingly quiet until I picked up my 22lr can a month or so ago, holy crap CCI standard velocity (subsonic) is stupid quiet through my 10/22.

The AAC Micro 7 is kinda fun.

Its ok but its no major tack driver, but then Im no marksman and Im shooting crap factory subs, and not being a 700 mods are difficult. But that 16"mf is drop dead quiet & LOTS of fun to shoot. It helped I bought it really cheap and it came threaded with a 51T.

ETA: 22 & 300blk ftw.

A suppressed Ruger 22/45 LITE is my favorite.

Followed closely by a suppressed Savage .22lr bolt gun, shooting CCI Standard Velocity, the gun shoots tight groups at 35 yards all day long, and it's Hollywood quiet.

An Arfcommer I know bought a single shot break action .22 with fiber optic sights and threaded for a can.  We laughed at him.

Then we spent hours shooting shotgun shells laying on the ground with it and had hella fun for cheap.

Really?  come on.  I swear some of you guys harbor more anger and angst against  Robert Silvers then JD jones does.

He did what has been done countless times since the invention of cased ammunition, and even the creation of SAAMI. Take a non standard round and standardize it.

What about those companies that changed slight dimensions and created stuff for the

.300 fireball

or

.300/.221

Or is it only an issue because the 300 blackout has so far been a commercial success?  Where the other 2 simply did not make it as far.

How many popular rounds today started as someones wildcat.  We never see complaints about that standardization, only 300blk.

Might I suggest you get over it.  JD Jones has, and I would say he has a much more invested interest in it then you do, and if your claim is true, then why has JD Jones not filed court papers?

Could it be your wrong?

LOL.  Mine is a AAC model 7.

I load up 120gr cast round nose hollow points and pop tree rats with ease and stealth

I have also loaded up 100gr XTPs .312 with some trail boss and targeted the local tree rat population.  to say the least it is fun.

120gr cast round nose on steel, is a lot of fun also

Lol 223 556 221 fireball can all make the same brass to spec, he changed the chamber throat a bit and ran with it. 221 just saved cutting brass and a quick fire form made it. Since 221 brass dried up 223 became the choice for most of us.

There were many variants and i belive you are referring to olympic arms 300/221 or 300 fireball ect. He created the cartridge back in the early 80's hornady makes ammo now as well. I can go further into it and even paraphrase some emails between a few of us who talked to jdj about it. I can also go back on quaterbore.net since i am a mod there and probally bring up a few posts where silvers was asking for specific reloading data we use in the 1680 range to function with our ar and bolt gun variants that interchange, well before the 300blk came out ect. but i dont really have the time and google can probally pull the same info.

YMMV but thats just a opinion from someone who has been reloading for the 300 wtf© since 1998 was there way before 300 blk came out and has helped develop a few subsonic wildcats.
