Arf, help me out here. I'm trying to find some decent charging cables that don't get loose at the charging port (I want to be able to move and use the phone) and can charge quickly (2 amp).

I'd like to buy 3-5 of the cables, and can use either  3 or 6 footers.
What's everyone using? Links are appreciated but just tell me what is good quality.

I read a study done and it said that the best micro USB cables are the ones from MonoPrice.

I've never had any issues with Monoprice or Amazon cables.

Is your device "rapid charge" capable?  I just had to buy one for the car for my Samsung Note 4 because the regular cables and powerbrick i was using wouldn't charge the phone.

What car charger did you get?  The one I bought on Amazon said "Note rapid charger" but does not give me the "rapid charger" message like I get at home with the OEM.

I will vouch for Monoprice cables, they where much better than the ones I got at Micro Center.

Any quality cable from Amazon or MonoPrice is fine, but it's not just about the cable.  It's about the brick / cable / device combo.  You should by a meter and measure what's going on. This power meter works well for me http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013FANC9W.  For ten bucks, you can measure what's going on rather than guess.  Super useful for solar charging, and also useful for comparing. Every once in a while I find a cable that goes bad, and you can easily tell with the meter.

As a software developer, I have many tablets and devices.

My Surface 3 likes any heavy USB cable for maximum charging of 2.3A, although it's fine with any brick or battery pack that can put out 2.3A. Thin lightweight cables limit charging to < 1A.

My Nexus 7 tablet will only ever pull 1A no matter what brick or cable, although it didn't like one of my 6" long cables.  It wouldn't charge through that although one of my phones would pull 1A.  Odd.

My iPhone6 likes any brick or battery, and I have only bought "certified" Lightning cables so they work well.  Cheap Lightning cables are a waste of money.

I have bought Yellowknife cables off Amazon via Prime and they were fine.  This is one of my new faves: a curly cord 2-in-1 Lightning and Micro USB for $9: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013QD1I6C

ETA: consider getting a charging case if your problem is the phone dying and you need to charge on the go.  I also like wireless charging pads to use the phone while it's charging.

I've tried quite a few. Monoprice seem to be the only ones that last.

Never had a cable get "loose". You must be pretty hard on them. Any cable with all 4 wires is capable of rapid charging as long as the charger can negotiate on the data lines and supply enough current.

I am in need of one for my Turbo. I bought one at Walmart that claimed to work on my phone but it didn't.

Until I got a phone that would charge wirelessly I used cables from Fast Tech and they worked fine, until they didn't and for $2 threw them away.

Wireless charging however is the shit.

I don't know about a study, but I bought ten of them, and they were garbage, barely a step above Dollar Tree crap.

I have had good luck with the Amazon Basic cables though.

With an Android the thing to look for is charging cables and NOT sync cables, most chargers are set up to be compatible with iPhones, which means that if you use a sync cable an Android phone will see it as being connected to a USB port instead of an AC charger.

I am also looking for a rapid charger. My note 4 hates every charging came except the one it came with. I've heard that the "charge only" cables work well, but the ones I've found on Amazon seem sketchy.

My Samsung S4 won't work with cheap cables, so I bought OEM cables.  About $4 on Ebay.

I usually charge it wirelessly.  I've been using one of these Qi charging kits for more than a year now.

They work great, except the exterior charging pads are cheaply made - the charging ports break easily.  But they're only $3-4 online.

I went with the Samsung OEM one and it worked very well on the 6 hour drive I had today.  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014X37HH8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
