Woke up to a fresh snow, a first for our city.  It's been unseasonably warm and so even this small amount of snow is a welcome change..

Decided that breakfast was in order.  Started with some fresh eggs form a coworker, I had to wash a bit of poop and feathers off.  I mixed up a few eggs with some milk, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.  As I cook it I add a bit of shredded cheese as well...

Then I got to work on potatoes.  Peelded about 5 good size russets...

Boiled these for about 15 minutes...

As these boiled I got a few things ready for the cast iron skillet including salt, pepper, an onion, and bacon grease...

I sauteed the onion briefly in bacon grease and then added the potatoes and salt & pepper....

While these were cooking, I fried up an Italian fennel sausage from my grandpa's recipe.  My grandpa was a first born Italian from Sicily who created this recipe when he was about my age.  I have old black and white photos of him making the sausage with my dad who was about my son's age at the time.

I let this stuff cook as I got the bread ready...

I then started getting the french toast ingredients ready - I mistakenly grabbed buttermilk for the photo but I ended up using plain old milk...

Finished the potatoes and put them into the oven to keep warm...

Same with the breakfast suasage...

No breakfast would be complete without some freshly ground coffee...

The Technivorm doing it's thing...

[

Breakfast finally done!  French toast with real Vermont maple syrup, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes with chipotle tobasco and ketchup, breakfast sausage, coffee and orange juice.  Guns include a Sig MK25 and a Tavor, with a TAD/Winkler belt knife on the side...

Minus 1/100th of a point for unnecessary condiments - ketchup on those particular potatoes it a travesty!

Agreed. My dad does that shit and I tell him about it every time. I can't understand why someone would spend time cutting and cooking seasoning to make something taste just the way they want it only to drown out the flavor with ketchup once it hits the plate.

Not inappropriate but my grandpa didn't want to share the recipe with anyone else when he was alive and so I'm keeping his wishes.  FWIW I shared my grandma's cookie recipe in a dinner pic thread from this past summer.

My appologies. My late uncle Russell was a fan of Brooks Tangy Catsup. Check this link for the world's largest catsup bottle.
