It had happened finally, I can't close the (smallish) safe without perfectly arranging the long guns and maybe having a few outside of it.

The collection is not huge but neither is the safe.

What are the tips and tricks of maximizing the limited safe space without buying a larger safe or selling anything?

Internet example of said safe:

Take the door off.  Lots of overflow room.

Bandsaw the rifles into 14" sections so you can stack them.

How about this question, are there any gimmicks like "Rifle Rods" that can tide me over for a while?

If you turned some of them muzzle down could you gain room to cram?

Yes rifle rods increase safe capacity.  The bigger the safe, the better rifle rods work.

They work very well.  They are a quality product at a decent price. I have two safes and have used them in both for years. It's your best option until you can afford a bigger/second safe.
