I just finished putting all my .22lr into a single 20mm can to consolidate it.  16k+ rounds.

Tried to pick it up to put it in its home...
Went downstairs to put on my steel toes, then back up to move it.
Finally wrestled it into place...now my back is feeling a little tight

Oh well...
I now have 5 empty .50cal cans

Don't put all of your eggs in the same basket.

Lift with your hips not your legs man... rookie mistake

I use 50 cal cans for my reloads but i usually try to keep them somewhat light. i would never fill one all the way up. Once you have a hernia repaired you avoid lifting heavy things.

So it's not "Lift with your back to put it in the rack?"

Getting carbon smudges on your receracoated SCAR-L from shooting it. Now the tans don't match pretty for pics to post on the internet.

I have a couple of those cans loaded with 22lr - I just scoot across the floor.  I realized 50 cal is good for backup storage to the 30 cal cans which are just right (heavy but doable).  Fat 50s are good for AR magazines while the tall ones are good for SMG magazines.

I have a couple of 20mm can loaded with 12 buckshot and slugs.  It was fine until I had to lift it out of a Job box I had it stored in...

I think it was pretty close to 100 pounds!

Scooting ammo cans across the floor is not good for wood floors   I should grab a furniture dolly for it...

At least with the .22's, I keep a brick in my range bag.  A brick will last me a whole summer of plinking.  No need to access the rest of the stash but maybe twice a year...if that.

Got a large ammo can holding 3k+ 9mm.
I can at least push it into a permanent spot in the garage.

Sounds like you need to go neckbeard some ammo and use the profits for a gym membership.

Lol, OP can't lift a 20mm can full of .22LR.

I can lift it.  Just that I didn't think it through, but mainly I didn't know I had that much .22 in the first place.

Hell...I betcha I'm bigger than you

So did you leave it in the carboard boxes, then place each brick in the 20mm ammo can?

Or did you break open each brick and then dump the rounds into the ammo can?

No, all the ammo is still in their original packaging.  That would be retarded to dump it all out  Although I do know of someone who did that with a few bricks in a 30cal can...different brands too
