Gun safety instructor shoots pastor during demonstration
December 15, 2015 Personal Protection Institute where an accidental shooting occurred MODESTO, Calif. -- A Modesto pastor is recovering after being shot during a gun safety class, CBS Sacramento reports.
Tom Smith, a family pastor who also helps with church security, was shot by his own gun safety instructor. Modesto Police say they were acting out a scenario when a loaded gun the instructor was holding accidentally went off. They say they gun fired at the end of class after the instructor put a mock gun down and picked up his real loaded gun. That's a major violation of one of the NRA's main rules for certified instructors.
Was this guy NRA certified? If so, he needs to be dumped. Also, notice how the gun did these things, not the instructor. The gun just "went off" by itself. These stories are so retarded, the people that write or sign off on them should be fired or ignored for being incompetent or pushing an agenda. |

I'm sorry the pastor was shot and hope he makes a quick and full recovery. Now with that said, I can fully understand how the instructor made the mistake, after all, you can see that the instructional gun and the real one are basically identical. Only a trained eye can differentiate between the two.   |
