Figured this is as good a place as any to ask...

How do you all secure a double front door(besides the deadbolt)? I understand the alarms, dogs, weapons and those pieces to home security. What I am wondering about is the actual physical security of the doors. It seems like a three yr old could kick it in. I'm guessing some of you have done some cool things so what are they?

There are door reinforcement kits on the market for double doors.  Installing one of those might be a good start.

Take it out and replace it with a regular door.

No VC in the hood that I know of. Although Fresno may have some.

I don't want to derail the OP's question, but what good is re-enforcing the front door when the windows are usually the weakest link.  what do you do about that besides put bars on which looks bad and is against most HOAs?

Hurricane glass?

They also make a clear film that reinforces window glass and keeps it in place when it breaks

shhh.

my mom was giving me shit about my house not having a deadbolt.

i was like uh if they are going to kick in the door they will break this window right here and unlock my door.

i have one now because i replaced the knob with a handleset but its not anymore secure.

also if some one wants in your house they will get in.

Question for everyone. What if your doors all open outwards? Here in Florida the doors are open out due to building codes and hurricanes.

Then you probably have higher HVAC bills than inward-swing door buildings.

One of those door jamb reinforcement plates with looong screws.  Not great but better than nothing.  If you've ever kicked in a door you'll realize a deadbolt is pretty much worthless.

Security hinges. They replace one screw with a pin that meshes with the opposing hole. Longer larger screws into framing also.

Replacing it with a solid door would probably be the best route.

I never even changed the locks when we bought the house.

Only SWAT goes through the front door. (and every other opening at the same time)

Bad guys go through the window in the back of the house.
