Hey,

Just looking for some advise from you gus on something. I'm dying to buy a belt-fed, even though a semi auto is all I can afford. I want to get one before they are illegal (same for a .50BMG, but I digress). Should I wait for the much anticipated Shrike system from Ares, should I look at getting a belt fed M96 (which are rumored to be out in 12 to 18 months) or should I just bend over and take it in the ass, spend $6000 on a M-60E3? I figure that the Shrike ( if it ever comes out) will cost as much as the M-96 belt feed system, probably around $3,000. What's your advice?

Get a 1919A4 semi if that is all you can go for. You can find one nicely accesorized for around $2500. More reliable than the M60.  Also someday when you decide to goto the NFA world just have the gun built up on a registered side plate and you are off and running.

This is the SHRIKE, from what I understand, there is a working prototype since 2000, but it's been in development FOREVER.

Hey,

The M96 Expeditionary Rifle is new and based partialy on the Stoner 63. It is manufactured in the USA by Robinson Armament Corp. They have designed it to be modular, like the Stoner 63 was. Currently they have a Rifle, Carbine and Bren model. They take M16 mags. I shot it in California about 18months ago and I was pretty impressed. Below are pics of each config. Robinson armory's website is here - http://www.robarm.com

The belt fed kit SHOULD be out in 12 to 18 months. The question is WILL IT BE ILLEGAL BY THEN???

Oh yeah, the M96 retails for around $1300. Bren kit is extra.

You will NEVER see a shrike for sale.  Forget about it, it's a pipe dream.

Why do these idiots post pics for a product they don't have?  Why not start production and then make the announcement.

Why don't I just announce I'm selling a belt-fed, I'm as close to it as ARES is.  Victor Arms did the same thing.  It never came to fruition either.
