Excited about cheap .223 to plink with, I picked up a box of Perfecta from Walmart.

First round in, click.

Charge and the round goes tumbling into the snow.  Next round, click.

Pull the round and the bullet is compacted halfway into the casing.  Check the chamber and I can't see light.

First round was a dud and the bullet was lodged in the chamber.  Thank God the second was a dud, too.  Tapped the bullet out of the barrel and found fucking powder everywhere in the damn upper.

Here are some pictures of the crap round and the powder left in the casing.  Powder is supposed to be green, right?

10/10.  Good job Perfecta!

Their 9mm runs fine in a few handguns that I've tried it in. I think I've gone through about 4 to 6 boxes. Not sure about the .223 stuff.

I was given some Perfecta .223 brass.  Didn't know anything about it, so it is lumped in with Federal .223 brass.
Single use blaster brass.

The brass seems fine.

The powder and crimp not so much.

I have shot 150 rounds of it with no problems.  Seems good for me as a range linker round.

Why not just get Wolf brass and call it good?

Is that powder clumped together?

For the reloaders - brass is heavy at approx. 100gr after processing and the flash holes will be anywhere within the primer pocket circumference.

PSA.  Never had a problem with anything else ever.

Clumped rock hard together.  That's after I broke it up a bit to get it out of the brass.  The primer had a good strike on it.

Did the boxes show any signs of getting wet or contaminated with some kind of fluid? I've shot a couple hundred rounds of this stuff and have had no issues.

shot 400 rounds so far, accurate in my guns, definitely the flash holes are all over the place . more accurate than any other cheap ammo that I have used

You got lucky.  Next time you get a click and powder all over the place instead of BANG (boing) check that bore before you try firing another round.

I have 150 rounds. I'm going to shoot today so I'll reply with my findings. A buddy of mine hasn't had any problems shooting it through his RRA AR.

How do you get a click, and the primer ignites? wouldn't it be a pop at least? Primers going off are not silent.

I love the 9mm Perfecta. It shoots good and is cheap. I just bought 500 rounds at $9.69/50 round box.

I've shot the 308 147 through my m1a no problems and every rd has fired. Maybe 300 rds.

Have shot maybe 1k of the 9mm through my glock 17 and 19. No issues.

I've gone through several hundred rounds of their 9mm as well and it's been flawless so far.  I still prefer Federal Champion for cheap ammo (always good quality & clean), but at $10/50 it's a no brainer.  From what I understand it's manufactured by Fiocchi. Seems to be cleaner than WWB as well.  Hopefully this is just a fluke and you unfortunately just got a bad box.

I have shot over 2k rounds of Perfecta 9mm and really like the stuff. Cheap, decent accuracy and never had a problem. I have also shot a few hundred rounds of Perfecta ammo in 308, .38, .357 and .223 and never had a problem (knocks on wood).  I really like Perfecta ammo, it's very good cheap plinking ammo.

When muffled by the action and bullet, not much louder than the hammer strike. In my M1991, I had a slight powder burn that almost pushed the bullet out the bore, but stuck at the muzzle (yeah I got a pic), and the sound was like a hiss or pthhh.

Yup. I've bought quite a bit of it. I won't argue with decent brass ammo at $16 for 50 rounds. Haven't had any problems with it.

I found a few pieces of this garbage in some once fired brass I purchased and noticed the offset flash hole too. I'm just glad some how my decapping pin found the hole and it it didn't bend or brake. Screw that stuff it's garbage. Wolf Gold is cheap and at least they can get a flash hole punched in the right damn spot. I completely ignore this crap if it's all the store has.

*EDIT* P.S. Like you I also noticed it was heavy. When I find a piece of this crap in with my brass now I just chuck it in the scrap box.

I've shot some of their .223, but mostly their 9mm. Never had an issue.

I'm glad, too, seeing as I got about 60 boxes of it when it was $6 and change each

Hard telling, it's distributed by Tula, the .380 is most definately Fiocchi and is Made in Italy and quality stuff.

I shot well over 1500 rounds of the .223, and no issues, all of mine came in 50pks, if that matters.. The 9mm also runs fine. Not sure why yours failed...

I'm surprised that my decapping pin survived an encounter with Perfecta brass.

How hard could it possibly be to punch a hole in the center of a primer pocket?

Primer ignited but powder did not. I have personally experienced this with a couple rounds of 45-70 Gov loaded to light with too much case capacity. When the primer went off, no sound was heard other than the hammer dropping. When I ejected the cases, half the powder turned yellow and clumped together. I wonder if the temperature is a factor for the powder used in the Perfecta?
