Anyone notice people stocking up (on Ammo & Mag's) because of what happened in Paris, and those "Refugees" that are supposed to be coming here to the US?

I noticed it happening here, and I was wondering if it was happening elsewhere?

It's whatever, I'm building my Sbr now , with plans for 2 more...... One at a time. I could always use more usgi 20 round mags now that i think about it. I love 20 round mags. Also need to get some 9mm Steyr aug mags. I've been putting that one off for a while.

Awesome.  So now I need to go grab a couple hundred rounds so I"ll be able to go shoot for the next 6-9 months while dipshits around the country hoard thousands and thousands of rounds because they believe that theres some kind of shtf situation that might involve them turning into Rambo and saving the world single handedly from terrorism....in Kansas.   F*cking ridiculous

I have "thousands and thousands" rounds of ammo. Not because I'm hoarding it, but because I've learned from the last 4 panics and have seen prices sky rocket. Buy cheap stack deep.

Same here. I am always adding more ammo and magazines. Just in the past week and a half, I have added 550 rounds of M855 and 400 rounds of XM193 along with six 30-round PMAGs, one 20-round PMAG, and one 30-round USGI magazine (Sanchez). I also picked up about 250 rounds for my Garand including seven rounds of AP and forty-eight rounds of M25 (Tracer). All of that stuff is from 1952 and 1954 (Twin Cities).

This is the mindset that many should have. The wise will take steps to make sure that they have what they need when the time comes. The others will wait until the time comes when they really need it and they will have to fight to find ammo and/or pay ridiculous prices for it. I have been stocking for almost 12 years. Like jm0502, I have thousands and thousands of rounds of ammo. Prices are extremely reasonable right now. There is no excuse to not stock up. Even if you cannot afford to buy thousands of rounds at one time, just buy a few hundred rounds at a time, but do it as often as you can. Also, how ever many rounds you shoot, always replace it with more than you shot. This way, you stay ahead. If you have a local forum that has a classified section, a lot of times you can get good deals on ammo and magazines. That is how I acquired my recent acquisitions of ammo and magazines.

Who in their right mind would want to save Kansas?

I'm stocking up.  But nothing really to do with world events. Prices have finally flattened out or gone down.  I've seen how quickly the supply can dry up or prices can go full retard.

I always load up on mags, ammo, and pick up a good gun buy when I see one.  I'm also usually always saving for a higher end gun that I have my eyes on.

A fine explanation of the STUPID TAX. If you are too fucking stupid to stock up on a consumable commodity that you regularly diminish in times of low prices and good supply, you later get to pay the STUPID TAX. Stupid hurts. Sorry.....

I hear you. I was buying South African .308 for $17.95 per battle pack (140 rounds). I bought a whole bunch of it. I stopped when it went over $22.95 per battle pack. I was buying M193 for $130/1000 rounds back several years ago. I have always bought heavy when the prices were down. Now is the time for those who have not to start buying in bulk before the prices jump again. That is my advice.

I work at Gander (gun counter) and to be honest we just see a lot of people buying up our slugs (deer season, many that didn't plan I guess) and a lot of CCW types, either getting ready to take classes (lot of women) or finished classes and wanting to get an idea on the better carry pieces. I have seen a lot of holster purchases of late.

As for stock piling ammo and AR's not so much. I am in Central Illinois and the ROP is not as strong here, but that could always change, we don't even have any BLM issues yet (though we have a 26% demo on that particular group in the city, out in my neck of the woods not so much).

Like others, I have a pretty big stock pile of .223/5.56 and 9mm, have more then enough AR's, need a couple more shotguns and ammo as well as a few more pistols and revolvers, just to have.

I have mapped out routes that bypass the city though for getting to work, wish I could do the same for the wife since she travels into FSA areas and the college area (both areas I think are prime for bullshit). We did invest a lot in medical supplies, alternate communications, setup a GMRS radio system with repeater and all as well as portables and mobiles, since natural disasters are a bigger concern for us then the Paris type incidents.

YMMV
