Hey guys and gals. I have a set of the impact sport ear pro that one side has stopped working. Its the side opposite of the volume control side.
I installed new batteries, tried tapping them and they still dont work. Any ideas? They have very little use overall. |

Honestly? Don't bother trying to fix them. Buy something better. If I can fix them Id like too. I do like them.. Have you been able to try any of the other, slightly-higher-end offerings out there? Serious question, as I thought they were pretty good too until I was able to try some other things. I found the HL to be the most uncomfortable in ear cup fit and to be the most annoying in their electronic activation. I still have a set, but it's in the bag of loaner gear. |

These are the only pair I have ever tried. |

lots of people buy them because they are inexpensive. compared to other muffs here are what i have found lacking. the muff are thin and don't seal well. the electronics is slow to react to noise. they break in the middle with lots of use.
if you can afford sordins with the gel cups grab them. buy once cry once and all |

Don't buy Peltors. Every pair I have ever had shit the bed within a year (this was before H/L's were out) My H/L's have been flawless for 5 years. And I use them a lot. Yep. I know several guys that wear broken Pelters, lol Like I said, MSA Sordin is the way to go. They are water resistant and damn near shock proof. Mine have been abused and work perfectly. |

A few years ago the left side speaker stopped working on a set of mine. I tore them down and found a solder joint that had broken loose. It took longer to heat up the soldering iron than it did to actually find the problem and make the repair.
Good luck, hopefully the issue with yours is something simple like that as well |

I took the inner ear cup off but didnt see how to get to the speaker. |

Ill still try and tear into these. Might be glued together.. |

Pull them apart... might be something simple like a bad solder job on one of the wires to the other ear cup. Or just buy a new set or get a warranty replacement.
I've had mine 2 years. Use them for a few hours most Mondays... still on the original set of batteries. |
