I am moving to Mobile, Alabama soon. I have had DSL for the last decade because I lived to far out for cable service.
The max speeds available are the same for both for the area the house is in. Which company would arfcom choose? ATT is also an option but the speed is slower. I am assuming it must be DSL but the wife didn't ask when she called. |

You mean U-Verse and Comcast OP?
I switched from comcast to U-Verse and I have been fine with the switch. I am not getting the same speeds, but the speed is fine for my needs. Both are about as reliable and both have about the same level of customer care, with ATT being a fraction better in my experience. |

Quoted: I believe you guys but there are different numbers and websites for Xfinity and Comcast and different prices. Does one service seem more premium than the other in any way? If your looking at the X platform vs regular cable? X1 is more menu driven and interactive with other services like phone and internet. You can setup weather and traffic alerts on it if you wish It also has features to use aps on your smart phone to setup recordings. Same with internet, you setup your wifi login and it will work wherever someone has xfinity wifi. ( without using their bandwidth ) The regular is just a cable box or a DVR with a program guide As far as the internet, I use it almost daily, and wish it was available where I live. |

DSL around here is so over subscribed that it is unusable. We don't have AT&T Uverse, but I've heard tons of complaints from friends who have it.
I've had Comcast for 10+ years, and the service has been rock solid. About 6 months ago they started capping my monthly data usage at 350Gb per month. Every 50G over that costs an extra $10. My monthly bill started approaching $200/month. At that point I was pretty pissed off. I ended up dropping my cable TV and going with a business plan that has unlimited internet usage. Nobody was watching much on cable. We were all watching things on NetFlix, Youtube and Amazon prime. Only thing I've missed is Walking Dead, but you can buy the whole season for less than $2/episode. TL:DR: Saving $100+ per month thanks to Comcast's data usage charges |

Xfinity is the product, Comcast is the company. Sort of like Ford and Taurus, or Chevy and Malibu. Xfinity is proof that the corporate culture in America is bloated and incapable of acting on a good idea yet will churn out on hair brained scheme after another and dump billions into implementing that scheme, and when it does nothing but cause confusion and aggravation, they will double down on it. I work for Comcast, I install various products, including Xfinity services. If you are going with Internet only, and plan to stream a lot of video look into Business Class services. With business services you get no data caps and a guaranteed class of service, as well as priority repairs. |

| Fuck Comcast, there service is exceptional, there customer service is one of the more fucked up experiences I have had. You will get six different answers from three different people and after you have said fuck it cancel my account they will have the balls to call you to ask you to rate your experience. If comcast was my only option I would use dial up. |
