Amazon just sent me a love note telling my my card was declined.  Check with my bank and some motherfuckers have been running up my bill in MN, MI, and WI.  Close to $8,000 at Best Buy, Lowes, Home depot, and Sears.

I have my ideas about the group that's doing it, and I bet they're some of our friends from the Horn of Africa.

So pissed, going on a trip tomorrow and now I have to deal with alternate payment issues.

Sumbitch.

Damn

As much as I hate BOA their instant notifications any time a card is used sure is nice. I have caught a few "test" charges in the past that way.

Debit or credit?

I've got my Amazon Chase card set to notify me by email anytime a charge of $1 or more is charged to my card and I have a separate email address made just for it that goes to my phone, tablet and computer. As you might can tell I've been burned before.

Bummer, man.

If your bank doesn't send an instant message to your phone immediately after a charge is made, you need to change banks.

A 8k charge at Bestbuy should of sent a red flag to your CC company..even when it was a few charges over a short time.

What? All this new chip reading bullshit on cards is supposed to put an end to all this.

Same thing happened to me just yesterday, not quite the same amount, but pissed me off anyway.

If you can, contest the charges as soon as possible.

I can't wait until all retailers require the chip.

That happened to my debit card last week. Someone in England charged $140 on it. Fifth Third sent me a text and killed the card within 5 minutes. I rarely use my debit card since I use my credit cards for just about everything.

Been burned a few times, credit card calls me, I tell them my last purchase and they remove the other charges.  No hassle at all

Thanks for the new TV.

Kidding. Sucks. Had that happen last summer. Wife went to fill up the car, card declined.

Was not too hard to deal with, but what a pain in the ass. And probably, no one will ever be punished for it. That's what really pisses me off.

Credit, so no real skin off my back, other than the fact that I'll need to figure out some alternate hotel payment options.  Not gonna use a debit at the hotel.

They're going to overnight me a new card, should have it Monday, the day after I get back.

Maybe I can sweet-talk the desk chickie into taking an out of state check!

And that's what I'm getting ready to do, as soon as they issue me a new number.

Done and done.  bank actually shut the card down a few days ago, but never notified me about it.  It took Amazon telling me that the charge for my new Magpul iphone case for my new iphone was declined that set all this off.  Better to find out today than tomorrow at the hotel desk.

Caught a 'test' charge on a CC once, called, cancel card, get a new one snail mailed to me. New card got hit with fraud while it was in the mail to me. So much for the 'card won't work until you call and activate it' crap.
