Who has one?
I do. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. |

Old school AMT shit is cool. I need to pick up one of these. I've got a AMT hardballer in the safe at home.
The company has a very interesting history if you look it up. Used to have a factory in the same town that Siracha sauce everyone likes that's made in California. I think the company's rights are owned by High Standard now. They only still make the little backup pocket gun under the AMT name though. Wish they would bring back some of the old models. |

I agree on early AMT stuff. I have a 22LR pistol, an AMT Lighting (it's a copy of a Ruger MKI). It has a bull barrel adjustable sights and a target trigger. The damn thing is super accurate, almost outshoots my tricked out Ruger 22/45 Lite. Great little pistol. |

I had one years ago. Utter and total shite it was. I'm so dumb, I even spent money on a smithy trying to fix it before I ejected. A buddy's got one that fires when you flip the safety off. He put a round through his tv in the shed. I've been meaning to take a look at it, but I think he's pretty disgusted and doesn't want me to buy parts for it. |

Safety on them just blocks the firing pin.......you can still pull the trigger and drop the hammer with the safety on......a little un-nerving for sure..... I've owned a few .22 Automags........a good 90% of problems can be traced to the hammer spring and strut that goes inside it.....usually results in FTF's / light strikes.... Find the ammo yours likes, keep it clean and well lubed..... fun guns.....nice "boom" from a rimfire!!! |

The problem is the hammer drops when you off safe the pistol. For some reason or another, the safety is tied to the trigger. Would've been less complicated if they'd used a spring loaded decent to hold the safety in place and not have the safety tied to the fcg. |
