So I got a random Microsoft access code text from number 732873. Is this legit and if so what is it for?

I didn't sign up for anything

If it was legit, wouldn't you have initiated the request for this code?

ETA - Most likely someone fat-fingered their info when signing up so you're getting the password reset code, not them.

No, this is serious.  The password on his computer is going to be reset if he doesn't text back quickly and verify who he is.  Credit card # and last 4 digits of his social should be sufficient to prove his identity.

I pretty much figured it was BS. But ya never know.
