Anyone have a problem with this? I have one jaw joint that I was told was a problem 10 years ago and it seems to be sore and swollen all the time now. Anyone else run into this? Do I see an MD or a dentist or a maxiofacial surgeon?

From what I read, this thing can be tricky.
Start with a GOOD Dentist. Get plenty of opinions and surgery should be last resort (as others have said). Mine situation was easy to fix I did a lot of jaw clenching (maybe stress or something). Eventually it created headaches and shoulder muscle spasms. Eventually it would have done damage to the jaw hinges and that's bad. All I needed was a 'mouth guard' molded to the teeth (similar to a football mouth piece). You wear this when you sleep and it tells your brain that your jaw is closed before it is closed. After the first week you only need to wear it a couple nights a week. . |

Pretty much what everyone has said. I used to use one of the melty form-able mouth guards. Now I use these and like them better. |
