| So how many magazines per weapon do you guys have as a minimum? Right now for long guns I'm at 10 and handguns 5. I do have more than that for certain types, but I'm wondering if those numbers are adequate. I 'm talking about original capacity magazines, 30's for the AR's/AK's, 40's for the C93, 17's for the G17 etc. etc. |

I've found that there is a cool trick to buying glock magazines. Since the Gen4's come with 3 magazines, just buy more Glocks, and your magazine stash will increase pretty quickly.
eta: the general consensus is that you will need a lifetime supply at the minimum. If you have kids/grandkids you will need a lifetime supply for them as well. |

My mag count varies but I have at least the following on hand-
150- loaded 30 round mags(5.56/223) Minimum 5 mags per pistol 20 loaded AK Mags 10- loaded PSL mags 10- loaded FAL mags 20- loaded AR10 mags 10-20 loaded mags combined for 300 blk out, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel Various mags for my bolt guns Edit- don't know how many I have in storage. I buy them every time I find a deal. I think I have somewhere around 400 pmags in boxes still |

Magazines are a consumable item. Think tires for your car.
Buy enough to last a potential lifetime of shooting. I'm 52 and realistically plan to shoot till I'm 70. If I'm lucky... Someone 25 needs more magazines than I need now. Buy magazines and plan for the future. |

I've settled on 10 minimum for the handguns I use as carry guns. 5 for fun guns I just want to have or WW2 historicals I shoot once a year or so. Long guns, 20+ for ARs and I have 5 of them. I also have a stash of 20 unused Brownells somewhere and I have the mags I brought home from the Army years ago. For example I have 2 twenty rounders from my last visit to VN, 6 twenty rounders from mu last time shooting at the All Army matches. They are boxed and put away.
For my M1carbines I have 4 issue 30 rounder for each and 6 fifteen rounders for each. I have two put away that I carried in Berlin (You can see them if you are on our military forum and I have pictures of me at C P Charlie.) |

I have 7 mags for my handgun (need more, I'd like to have 15)
40 for my AR, which isn't even built yet Only one per bolt gun, but I don't see those being banned so I'm not worried. I have a Saiga .223, but mags are so damn expensive that I'm not sure it's worth owning the gun so for the moment I'm spending my money on AR stuff, no sense keeping it after I build my AR. |
