I just picked an Xbox One yesterday in anticipation of playing Fallout 4 next week. I got the rare replay/gears of war bundle.
Tell me something, will I ever actually get to play a fucking game on this fucker or will I constantly be waiting for updates and installations. This is fucking ridiculous. If it's not ready to play Gears by noon today the fucker is going back and I'm getting a PS4. |

I know your frustration... I just bought one a few weeks ago for Forza 6. The key is to get another game... then you can play that one while the other one is updating. ![]() I can play some Rare games released in 1984, but if I try to play something like perfect dark, which was a 1gb install, I now have to wait for an 800mb update. |

Took about 2 hours for Halo 5 to install for me yesterday. Worth it though. I just walked off and came back later The multiplayer on Halo 5 is definitely worth it. The music felt definitely like Halo, especially with the famous Gregorian singing in the beginning. The story...meh. |

Quoted: Mine seems to do all the updating when I'm not playing. Don't forget to add a few TB external drive... |

For next time, unplug the internet, install game, install update. Or set it up when you go to bed. THIS. If you are disconnected from the net it'll use the disk to install. Otherwise it just checks the disk to verify you have the game, then downloads it. Fuck if I know why. Btw F4 will have built in mod support. Also the Arf Destiny group on xbone is pretty big. Just check out the wargaming forum. |

Quoted: Get both. If you want to play gears and halo, the PS4 won't help much. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: If it's not ready to play Gears by noon today the fucker is going back and I'm getting a PS4. Get both. If you want to play gears and halo, the PS4 won't help much. |

Next time I'll disconnect. And my "ghetto setup" isn't all that ghetto. I can get up to 30mbps on off peak times, but verizon throttles it during the peak times. |

Quoted: Funny how I can fire up an NES or SNES and be playing a game within seconds, but a modern console will take 10 minutes establishing a connection, updating the system and updating the game before I can finally get started watching cutscenes and loading screens. |

Kinda cool those old cartridges were all solid state. I believe the systems themselves had no memory and it was contained on each cartridge. |

Ya funny that if you had a broke NES game with problems with gameplay you were just fucked. Wait until the OP hits his data cap running an Xbox One through his phone. |

It's actually pretty hard to break a NES game. Tons of them are still working after 30 years of abuse/neglect. Hell.....Most Atari 2600 carts are still working fine as well! |

Mine is always updating. I want to get the SSD one that's coming out this Christmas. Ugh, I saw the XBOX Elite but didn't know that it had an SSD.....Was planning on getting the Fallout 4 bundle but you may have just made me spend more money! It isn't a full SSD, it is a Hybrid. Release is Tuesday 11/3. |

Hope you have unlimited data, if you just left your xbox updating it probably used several gigbaytes of data with all the game updates. Pepper your angus for the bill if you don't. |

Just came to post this. LOL. If Op does not have unlimited data downloading several hundred megabyte updates is gonna suck. |

I never did play Perfect Dark. I played way to much Perfect Dark Zero. Anyone playing that on Xbox One??? If there is a decent amount of people playing it. I might have to pick up a Xbox One because I have been Jonesing for some Halo also. |

Ssd drive is not worth it.
Testing shows no significant gains with pure ssd or hybrid over the standard hard drive. its a gimmick to sell more xbone's. Plenty of videos proving it. OP, please return the xbone and get a PS4, your a whiny bitch. Go where you belong, with all the kids. |
| As someone who owns all current gen consoles, I can tell you that the Xbox One updates are absurd, and in some cases brick the console. I updated last week and it took over an hour, then froze on the green screen of death. My PS4 takes an average of five minutes to update. If you want QUICK game and system update downloads, return the X1 and buy a PS4. You'll be much happier. |

If you want a console to play fallout 4, just build your own multimedia PC instead. You don't have to buy a monitor for it, just plug it into your TV.
For what the hardware costs these days you can build a PC that at least matches the console specs for around the same money, and if you spend a bit more you can beat it by a lot. Also, you don't have to pay the subscription charges, games via Steam (and others) are cheaper than consoles, and you can still use the same controllers. ETA-Before someone says master race or something, I own a PS4, Xbone, and a pretty decent gaming PC. The reason I recommend PC is because of all the mods that we all know are coming. |
