When will they show their faces here?  Anyone know off hand, or do I need to patronize their web site?  I'd prefer not to patronize them in any way, but I want to follow the news accounts of a US appearance.

May 1, Greeneville, SC.  A lot of us are looking forward to seeing what ticket sales will be like.  Actually, the test of the courage of her convictions is whether that Maines chick will repeat her words on stage in Austin.

And they had such a good career going until she opened her mouth between songs...

My wife wanted to go...until she heard the shit that they pulled while in Europe. Now she doesn't even care if they were to play the county fair. She would STILL not go.

I think The Marshall Tucker Band is doing a pro-America/Support the troops concert over in Spartanburg on the same day. I bet that show gets alot of the Chicks' crowd.

I know damn well they won't be playing any USO gigs for our troops in Baghdad!

Those womenz are history!

Their career is goosed, it's cooked, it's over!

Imagine, they were a 'country' group and they managed to insult probably the most patriotic group of American fans they have!

Natalie, the big talker, is saying that all the flack they are getting is making her think she was right....about what I don't know.  I kinda feel for the other two, who support her philosophically but aren't joining in.  Oh well, the company you keep and all that.

Natalie's last statement was "why is what the Dixie Chick's think important to anyone?"  A good question to have asked before they offered it up.   Why was it so important to them to dis Texas and the President?  Insecurity.

It helps them sell tickets and records in Europe. The Eurotrash eat it up, like flipper performing tricks for you when you throw a dead smelt in his mouth.

It surprises me that the Maine gal said that remark, even after the group was invited to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl. Now, I can't even stand being in the same stadium with them. Thoughly trashing a very promising career, gives a news meaning to "loose lips, sinks ships," How about sinking careers? How sad.

YUP!

These whores were talking shit about Toby Keith's "Angry American" song well before they sung at the Super Bowl....That was enough to get my ole lady fired up; she stopped listening as soon as she heard about it...

You boys should've seen this comming!  I wouldn't bet much money  that these are her true feelings...I think she thought(?) it would help her carrer in "pop"  to be in with the rest of the "elite left"

I guess they'll be spending alot more time in theother Birmingham now[:d]

Some interesting factoids.

Seems that the record industry is reporting that Dixie Chicks record sales were off 35% last week and that the Greenville Sheriff's Office is in talks with the Dixie Chicks management staff concerning security costs.  Greenville County Sheriff's office is planning for riots at the concert over the comments made in Europe by the Dixie Chicks.

Lastly, the Am Theater in Greenville is receiving quite a few requests for refunds.

Should be quite an interesting concert on the 1st of May 2003.

The tickets may have been sold out before this hit the news. My girlfriend bought tickets to one of their concerts before this hit the news and the tickets were sold out in a day or two.

I didn't think about trying to get a refund, have to tell her to call about that.

(4/3/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Dixie Chick Natalie Maines told a New Zealand TV reporter last week that her now-infamous slam at President George W. Bush was a joke.

Maines admitted that she told a London concert audience that the group was ashamed that the President is from their home state of Texas, but added, "It was a joke and it wasn't planned. And it was really funny at the time. It got lots of cheers, and that's what it was meant for. You see the trouble that you can get into if you speak religion or politics. It gets people very upset."

Maines issued a written apology after making the remark at a March 10 concert, but stations continued to ban the Chicks' music on radio stations across the country.

In addition, the Dixie Chicks' Home album saw a more than 40 percent decline in sales after Maines's remark.

What BS! [BS]It was an horrible thing to say, but this just makes them look worse. I'd respect them more (well detest them less maybe) if they at least had the courage to stick to what they said instead of trying to lie their way out of it.

Their die-hard supporters will go out of their way to make their first US stop a success cheering wildly their every utterance.  If not so die-hard fans keep their tickets and go to protest it's liable to be a riot.

It'll be interesting when the Dixie Bitches come here. That little heifer has taken a few potshots at Toby Keith who, as you may or may not know, is from Moore, Oklahoma and is even more popular here than anywhere.

Toby had a show here recently and was on the boob tube talking about what the heifer said. It was kind of funny. He said she "has a big mouth" and she "needs to pay attention to what she lets fly out of her blowhole." Everybody loved it

I'm looking forward to watching Toby Keith on the Flameworthy awards tonight. Maybe he'll make a comment or two. I love his angry American song.

Toby Keith = Thumbs Up!
Dixie Twits = Pull the flush handle.

I immediately change the radio station when one of their songs starts. I find them REALLY annoying.

Boy they thought they were big shit's when the statement was made, the whole attitude was 'we're better than American's' and the Euro's ate it up.
Now, when they're being held accountable for their actions, its all 'we're not really that important' and 'we didn't mean it'.[rolleyes]
Shows their real convictions.

My wife busted up all her Dixie Twits CD's and sent the pieces to: 1. Their publisher(Sony Records) 2. Dixie Twits Fan Club 3. Ms. Natalie herself. And then sent e-mails to Grand Ole Opry, CMT, Dixie Twits website expressing her displeasure! ("Hell hath no fury" ya gotta love that woman!)

She's currently trying to register on AR-15.com Stand by for "Callgirl429"!

I'd wager that the tour gets cancelled  early or won't even happen at all.

I doubt they can take the heat she has rightfully generated.

I'd like to see 'em at least play a couple of shows though.

KZLA, probably one of the biggest country stations in SoCal says their sales was down 20%, and it keeps playing their stupid songs.  If I hear "Landslide" again....[buttkick]

People have very short attention spans..that and the Upstate has become more and more progressive with each pasing year.  Fear not, they will never again gain the status/popularity they had before the "fat little dixie chick" (Homer Simpson called her that in the episode where Frank Grime's son tries to kill Homer) shot her mouth off.
