The other gun lobby They gather in cities around the country to learn how to target policymakers and stay unified. They plan rallies and organize on social media. They circle states where change is most possible. They work with the Brady Campaign and Gabby Giffords' organization, Americans for Responsible Solutions, on federal legislation. They've found an ally in the White House.

In reading this article, it is more of a thinly veiled call-to-action.
This determined crowd turns the conversation around on the most stridently pro-life conservatives: What are you doing to save the lives of America's children from gun violence?
They make lobbying one click away: • Call your senators and demand a vote on universal background checks • Send your condolences to those affected by the mass shooting in Oregon • Join your local Moms Demand Action chapter Everytown's efforts have already scored some victories. In Washington state, nearly 60% of voters supported mandatory background checks on private gun sales, closing a loophole that advocates say will keep guns from falling into the wrong hands. Oregon voters earlier this year passed a similar measure -- the sixth state to do so since the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. |

They are the "other" gun lobby, unafraid of the NRA and its fervent backers. Unfortunately for those useful idiots, we do have the Constitution on our side. I check CNN for about 10 seconds, just to see if anything major has blown up. Then I leave, ignoring all the little bullshit like that. |

Well if we abort all our children, we could 100% save them from gun violence... What a dumb argument. |

Negotiating/Compromising with a gun grabber means you don't lose as MUCH...this time. They always come back for another "compromise". NRA just asked me to fill out a survey on what they are doing wrong. I told them. |

Obama told us to get active as he shed tears over dead bodies and stood on their not even cold bodies.
Fine you fucker. I'm getting even more active than I ever was. You made a call for action. And my action is firmly against you. You fucking cockstain on our country. |

They are the "other" gun lobby, unafraid of the NRA and its fervent backers. Well come and get them. Funny thing is they are......without firing a shot. They are all over mass media and social media. Where are we, sitting on a gun forum arguing amongst ourselves. We say things like "come and take them" in effect they are. Every time a ruling is put out, every time a certain feature is banned, every time certain ammo is banned, everytime we have to jump through more hoops to keep what we already have. Every background check we have to go through. Everytime we have to apply for a permit to carry. They are winning or don't any of you all see this. Yes we say things in these forums, but the majority of Americans don't even know about these places. These are the people who are electing these officials again and again into office. People say join the NRA, they run their campaign on the outdoors channel and such. Why aren't they putting their ads in regular TV. Why don't any of the gun manufactures or gun lobbyists doing this? Are they truly fighting the best they can for us? |

Unfortunately for those useful idiots, we do have the Constitution on our side. I check CNN for about 10 seconds, just to see if anything major has blown up. Then I leave, ignoring all the little bullshit like that. Why even give them the click/ad revenue? ARFCOM is usually an hour faster on breaking news. There isn't anything that is going to beat the multitude of members here who will come in and post the local news story or police scanner chatter. |

ETA::I love nothing better to see a liberal spout off about how bad the NRA is only to tell them that I'm a member. They either backpedal immediately, come up with irrelevant and easily brushed asided attacks, or totally melt down and begin yelling (or in one case, crying). |

They seem to be aiming at older/women/minority/urban demos instead of the white, rural had-a-gun-since-he-was-10 dude. And yet when a couple of the videos were posted here, a few people complained because......they weren't aimed at gun owners. |
