I have a Colt 1911 that was manufactured and shipped to the Army in March 1915. It's at about 85-90% finish and all original. Stunningly beautiful gun. I ordered s factory letter for it and after sitting around in my safe I decided to have it matteed and framed and hung it in my study.  Anyone else have a Colt factory letter? What gun did you get it gor and What did you do with the letter?

Pics of gun and letter??

I had a single action that was given to me from a friend that it was passed down through his family and he gave it to me as his son and daughter were very very anti gun and wanted him to destroy it.

I have the letter and gun in my safe but want to make a display for it.

Can't post pics at the moment as I'm in process of moving

I have pics of the gun but don't have an account I can post with. Letter looks 'ordinary' but does have the raised Colt seal on it.

Nice!  I have a 1943 model myself.  Unfortunately, it was "updated" in the late 80's.    It's still a kick ass gun, though.

Could I get one for a 1966 SP-1?

From what I understand the service is available for any Colt factory firearm. The super old black powder stuff is harder to research but pretty much anything they made can get a letter from the Historian.

This kind of idiocy pisses me off beyond words. Stupid fucking poncy progressives are mental twins to the Taliban. Oooh, history is icky, destroy it!
