I've been following the hype a lot so decided to try Google Cardboard and pair it with my iPhone 6S Plus

Tried a ton of apps. What a let down. It doesn't seem immersive at all. Lots of blurriness and pixelation and bad FoV Also did not feel the sense of scale everyone was talking about

Maybe because it's two plastic lenses in front of a cell phone?

The Oculus Rift works way better.

Try valves HTC vive. Or consumer oculus rift before deciding.

I have a Knox box "cardboard" for my nexus 6 and its a cool concept but not 10% of what real vr will be

Me too.

I had an Oculus Rift DK2 kit.

It was only really good for novelty.  Even at 1080P the screen door effect was crazy pronounced.

To make it work, we'll need 4K screens and hardware capable of rendering 3D scenes at 120fps (60 fps each eye).  The biggest baddest desktop PCs cannot do that right now.

The software and user experience still needs some work.  Give it another two years and I think it could be enjoyable.

Oculus Rift is pretty awesome.

Somebody made a scale model of Ponyville for it and ran it on a CoD engine.  I played with it a bit at BronyCon, and it's pretty awesome.

You bought some cardboard and had a disappointing virtual reality experience?

Can't strap it to your head, epic fail.

That's because Google Cardboard is the Viewmaster of the VR world.
