You'll wonder how you ever got along without one. Mine comes with my DirecTV subscription.
It's their basic unit. You can set it to record one program or a series. You can watch one channel while recording another. You can pause a live program and pick up where you left off. I'll set it to record a program, then come in shortly after the program starts and hit playback. This allows me to fast-forward over the commercials. They even have a special button that jumps ahead 30 seconds each time it is pushed. There are other nicety features too numerous to list here. |
