Many have a Fascination with trump just like they did with Howard Stern when he first started.

The polls said the average Stern supporter listened 2 hours a day to see what he said next...

The average Stern hater listened 3 hours a day to hear what he said next...

Controversy sells!

From the article linked above:

"If Miami doesn't do casinos, that would be a terrible mistake," Trump
told The Miami Herald in 2013. "Taxes would be able to be reduced
substantially."
I'm pretty sure my taxes haven't gone down here in Tampa since the casino came to town.

That's because the casinos are on the land of the Seminole Nation and not the white man's land in the City of Tampa.

In 2009, the hopey-changey honeymoon period was only just starting to wear off for a lot of Dems.  Six years later, do you think maybe he's seen the effects of Democratic policies in action via Obama's presidency, and he could've decided that shit was dumb?

I'm not saying believe him, but if there is anything we've wanted as conservatives it's for people who are vaguely Democratic to wake the fuck up and realize what those snakes are doing.  I'm not saying he has, but it's entirely possible that he did.

(For the record, I'm rather Trump-ambivalent.  Still very early in the campaign season and I don't think it's worthwhile to start backing anyone yet.)

And you think you're not?

You are supporting a letter, not a person or idea.

The GOP fed everyone that, "vote for the R or we will all die," shit sandwich for the last 30 years and most are tired of hearing it and eating it.

The real question becomes, "Why does Trump scare you so much? What do you think he will do so much worse than every other politician has done over the last 20+ years?"

Is Trump worse than Hillary? If not, to be a good little GOPer, you gotta vote for him. What happens then?

Is he worse than Boehner? Is he worse than McConnel?

The GOP has spent the last 30 years saying it all about who is worse, not who is best, and now the GOP establishment is the one eating the shit sandwich, that exact same one they fed us for years, and I for one think it is a fucking scream to watch.

Do I support Trump? Meh, I support the fact that he is sticking that shit sandwich right down the establishment GOP throat and pointing out what pathetic losers they have actively made the party into.

What is yours?  I thought I made it fairly clear that I don't support anyone at the moment.  I was just pointing out that Obama's Presidency has been a wake up call for plenty of people, and that Trump may not be any different.  His conversion could be real.  It could also be a lie.  Whether we want a recent convert to be our presidential is another question, but this isn't, "Once a Democrat, always a Democrat."  Change is possible, but not common.

I don't think you can jump in here and just say that Trump flat out lied.  Bush implied that Donald Trump directly offered money for gambling and that he directly lobbied for gambling.  There is no proof of that.  He was certainly donating money and trying to build influence , no doubt, but where is the evidence that he asked push or pushed Bush for gambling?

What we do know is that Bush knows how to read donations and figure out what they're looking for without someone directly asking.  Bush all but admitted that when he gets big money donations he sits down and tries to figure out what the donations are for so the donors don't have to directy ask.

Reagan was in his 50's when he changed from being a lifelong liberal into a conservative.  He wasn't a perfect president, but he was a great president.  Should his previously-held liberal beliefs have ruled him out?  We want people to convert from being liberal to being conservative.  If one of them is up for election, we should closely examine them before we back them.  If there is another viable candidate whose conservative beliefs are deeply held and proven, then it may be better to support them over an untested convert.  But we shouldn't rule them out simply out of hand.

In any event, it's too early to back anyone.  The media start the election cycle coverage earlier every year, and like usual we've got a huge field of candidates who have yet to narrow themselves down.  With Trump's proclivity for shooting his mouth off first and thinking later, he could very well torpedo his own campaign tomorrow.  I could back Cruz and he could drop out in a month.  It's not worth getting invested this early.

Personally, if I were you?  I'd chill out and reread "The Boy Who Cried Wolf."  It's a really long road between here and the primaries, and if you're gonna froth over Trump every day from then till now, you're gonna give yourself a stroke.  Worse than that, if you do dig up something truly scandalous about Trump, people are going to blow you off.  The actual news will get lost in the noise.

I may be assuming something, but it would appear that the OP does not like trump.

Just a guess

And before OP or any other trump hater, assumes, I am a trump suporter.

I have not supported anyone at this point, for this simple reason.  The North Carolina primary is too far down the list to mean much.  And when the state GOP tried to change that the establishment GOP threatened to take away our delegates.

So at this point OP since you are so smart and all that,  why should I support the GOP above the state level for any reason considering they don't want my vote to count.

Cruz and Trump are hated by the establishment.  That almost is enough for me to care, but then again I don't get to vote in the primary because I live in North Carolina.

Boy, you guys aren't going to like this post.

Nobody who's in business in a big way is a leftist.  There's just those who mind bribing Democrats and those who don't mind bribing Democrats.  The sad part is watching crooked Republicans trying to stand on a higher moral road by taking less money and making the bribe not come directly at them.

As for this thread, its splitting hairs just like Trump was doing in the debate.

The part American's need to listen to is the part where he's telling us our politicians are all able to be bought and paid for.  GW's last State of the Union when he called for ethics reform the entire Democratic Party sat down, I knew we were screwed then.  The RHINO Republicans losing to a Chicago "The Machine", it was like a nail in a coffin.

Care to guess just who is the largest political contributor as an industry?  Hint, its the same industry that profits the most from Obamacare and its not poor people.

The OP once watched from the shadows as Trump recited the proper demonic incantations and turned himself into a great horned goat by the light of the moon.

He cringed in terror as he witnessed Trump turn his best friend into a  pustulant warty toad, and trembled in horror in as Trump waved his goatlike hooves and caused his crops to whither and die.

It is all true.

This the OP has seen with his very own eyes.
